Some good tips here...Thanks! Probably where I loose the most strokes in mis-judging affects of wind.

Would love to try the fade/draw technique when playing a crosswind. I notice there are two bars(the third being the end). Has anyone found what mph wind the first bar would correspond to (assuming its a true 90% cross wind). This technique seems to have a couple of advantages to me and would be great for anyone to try. I'm wondering can it be used always, or is it more situational ie. narrow tree lined fairway, dogleg wind blowing wrong way, etc. Thanks in advance to any that reply. I had been using 12mph for each bar. So if a I had a 6mph cross wind, I would go halfway to the bar. That was about perfect. But the lately, I've been finding that to be a bit less accurate and have been using something like 15 mph. But I don't have a lot of data for that. 12mph worked for me for a very long time, I just have found it not to be as accurate as it was previously.

Thank you all so much for the help. Will be practicing this technique, I have a sneaky feeling the better players employ this technique regularly. I apologize for getting off the 'elevation" topic of the op, just thought it was related enough to not start a new thread. Sorry if I offended anyone, certainly not my intent.
So far I like it on approach shots a lot, not sure if its me but the ball seems to land "softer" on the greens. Need a lot more time with it but so far results are very encouraging.

In any case, the first reply to the OP (by Doyley) is pretty much regarded as the definitive solution for elevation changes.
