Kind of surprised everyone is so positive about this game. Yeah, it's fun to play, but it has some MASSIVE problems that cannot be ignored. Namely:
- Completely unbalanced multiplayer online tournaments. One character might drive the ball 320 on average, another guy can't break 200 because he hasn't grinded for 20 hours yet.
- 5 or 6 courses plus a couple more as purchasable DLC? I've had the game for a few days and feel like I've played the same course dozens of times.
- Very long and arduous grinding process to build up a character even remotely capable of competing online. Dozens and dozens of hours to unlock premium clubs and courses.
- Micro transactions. Easily the most gaping flaw of all. Online play will inevitably devolve into an arms race of players using $$$ to obtain and upgrade the best equipment. YUCK.

Haven't played much yet - but kinda seeing what blackaces13 is seeing. Playing with friends tomorrow evening, so opinion may change.

I don't expect it to be a balanced competitive experience. It's a casual game to play with friends.

The daily online tournaments and playing 'Turf Wars' with teams of randoms is definitely a major selling point.
More to your point, why would I even want to play my friends for bragging rights if our characters have massively disparate attributes/skills?
Purchasing abilities, clubs, balls, and other game altering items with cash puts a tremendous damper on my desire to test my skills against the best online. I think most of us that have been here at TGCT for years can appreciate that.

Most TGCT people are here because we want a persistent, fair online competitive experience.
EB is not that - for sure.

Let us have our little thread to shine a light on this glorious game and all the things it's done correctly.
I've played don't know 12 -15 hours and all I want to do is lock my daughter in her room and go back to playing the game ๐.
I haven't seen any micro buys to build up stats btw maybe I'm blind

This game is not trying to be a "golf sim". It's trying to be a fun, casual game that anyone can play with plenty of things to do. Completely different than TGC2 because who knows or cares about cheaters, server issues affecting swings, butting heads with others and infighting etc. I think the reason people from this site are gravitating toward this game right now is because it relieves the stress and aggravation that was TGC2 for the last two months.
Hopefully that is somewhat behind us now. But I can tell you after I play E.G. I am in a good and happy mood. Good mindset to play TGC2 after E.G. E.G. is not better or worse than TGC2 just different but in a good way

There's no comparison for me I love tgc too but the multiplayer is shocking. Everybody's is great to play with friends and I'm enjoying the grind as I love unlocking stuff etc. I'm rank 4 now and have unlocked 3 more courses and fishing. Having a blast with it, I'll probably avoid the online tournaments till I'm levelled up but it doesn't bother me

I'm really enjoying it, my "back door" skills are really improving ๐ But could do without the grind for multiplayer - would prefer to drop-in with mates at the same level.

Anyways can three people play offline all at once? Yeah man 4 player local play. You can all share the one controller too and there is an option to max out the stats so everyone is equal

Had a great time playing 4 ball with the family. I used my stats, the wife was on medium level and the kids full. My 9 year old was winning until the 8th. We were playing slots and she got the hidden power marker, had a stinker and ended up last. The wife won and was the only one under par. Great fun.

I'm actually talking to the missus about this game. She saw me playing and thinks she wants to give it a shot. She won't touch TGC because she sees how crazy mad I get sometimes when playing. I will let her win on EG for a week at least. LOL
