maybe I should keep my mouth shut but the reviews I read talked about more than rakes. They were just a part of the whole. *shrug* Oh, no...it's obviously about the rakes. NEVER derail somebody when they are whining about something that really had nothing to do with the points in scoring the courses. Obviously the fact that somebody pointed it out means that THAT might be what keeps it from advancing.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, let's settle down gentlemen. The Jim Mora photo, was in jest and I'm sorry for those who didn't get the reference. Listen guys, nobody is whining. Go back and reread what I posted. Yes, lots of things were said about my golf course, some of which I agree with and some of which I don't. Golf design is art and art is subjective. I would gladly sit down and talk architecture with any of the judges here. The reason I brought up the rakes is because a judge said, "This is a no-no because you can't move the ball or the rake if the ball rests up against it and the player will be punished." I'm sorry, but that is wrong. That is 100% wrong. Am I not allowed to point that out with out being labeled a whiner? I don't pretend to know how much the rake issue factored into the judges score, nor do I care. What I do care about is that designers out there are leaving out great design elements due to disinformation. The rakes never hurt anyone people!

You said you were going to lose because of rakes. That statement is hard to read without it sounding a bit over the top. Then putting a picture too. Just say what you did in the last post instead. The other made it sound like you quit reading at "rakes are bad"

What I do care about is that designers out there are leaving out great design elements due to disinformation. The rakes never hurt anyone people! Rakes actually DID use to be an obstruction. I don't know for sure if that has changed or if it doesn't effect the ball if it's behind the rake on the shot, but the ball absolutely used to bounce off of the rakes if it landed on it. I understand that you may mean your comments in jest, but they aren't being taken that way by others. I completely understand if you don't agree with the judges (or with me for that matter), and I 100% agree that you are entitled to your own opinion. You have a great course that has gotten tons of praise both on the forums and behind the scenes. That being said, your "tone" is coming off as a bit snarky... Like I said...great course, and look forward to what you do in the future as well as seeing how this one finishes up. Tight group... I would actually like to see this one pinned up so I can use it on tour...I 100% believe it to be a tour worthy course and rated as one of my top 10 best looking courses (aesthetically) in the competition.

Very interesting read here. I though Carl's was a peg above all the others, but the other three were close. I would have said Carls as no. 1 and Cnoic in second going in. Bow it seems they are both battling it out who ends up last while a tie sends moe through and a win for Carl sends mrnick and Hill Valley though...
That would be an interesting scenario as Cnoic would beat Hill Valley, Hill valley beat Carl and Carl beating Cnoic. Congratulations Adam and Tough luck Bradley. Good luck Moe and Nick!

Does this mean that I am done now? Can I start promoting my course now? I have some pretty big plans.

If I beat the bait I top group Adam second If we draw Adam tops my win over nick breaks tie i finish second If Bait wins Nics win over bait breaks tie Adam top Nic second So yes bradleystuart is eliminated the first surprise for me anyway............

Crazy group. I think I finished second in a tiebreaker. But what I learned is OOOOOOH what might have been. So many issues in my course, and still does "well". It could have been sooo much better. Learned a lot in this process as to what not to do (can it be mowed? lol )

Hey guys, how can I tell Judge #2 in the Bait Shop/Hill Valley match that the gazebo he really likes on the 8th hole and the one that is illogically placed on the 3rd hole are actually the same gazebo overlooking both greens? I'm almost afraid to say anything at all now.

I'm sorry, that last comment probably came off as snarky too. I'm just going to take a step back for a couple of days, maybe it's time to check out some of these new steam games...

i graded braes and carls as the two best courses in this group, tight group for sure, but again, was not on the same page as the official judges.
