About this game we all enjoy.
Is it the look, graphically?
The playability?
The speed at which rounds can be played?
The fact it has a designer too meaning the community is enjoying hundreds upon hundreds of beautiful user made courses compared to a handful on certain other games?
For me, as well as this excellent community we are all part of, its the fact that almost everything we do within the game is user driven, i.e. the courses are from users, the competitions are from users, etc, not to mention it does look rather nice, especially on a decent PC rig.
What is it specifically about this game for you that hooks you in and keeps you coming back time after time?

Three main things 1) TGCTours 2) TGCTours 3) TGCTours
If it were not for this site the game would have been long forgotten
Seriously though 1) the competition - great tournament structure run here from top to bottom...Tim, Doyley, the designers, schedulers, programmers, rangers and everyone else involved and too the podcast folks should be applauded daily. 2) the community - great people for the most part. Even the drama is fun 3) most realistic golf sim in my opinion

The only fun in this game is online competition. Promoted by this site. Kill the TGCTOURS and the game dies. No fun playing against machines. The TGCTOURS and what makes the difference.

I'd bought every TW game since Tiger08, went online to order RM Golf and saw some of the reviews on Amazon (which weren't good, think it had something like 8 courses at the time!), and one of the reviews mentioned TGC. I had a little look in to it, ummed and aahed a bit, and ultimately the price persuaded me to take a punt. I had thought that not playing 'real' courses would be a negative point but how wrong I was! The number one thing that keeps the game going is the designers. I have played countless fantastic courses both real and otherwise since February, the magnitude of the variety is mindblowing. No EA Sports game has ever come close, despite always buying all the DLC. I disagree that it's TGCT that keeps it going, if you look at the amount of plays HB courses get it's in the thousands, not all those people are here. Which is a shame because this site is the best gaming community I have ever been a part of, and it's certainly a large factor in what keeps me coming back. What TGCT does is give structure and points us straight to the great courses without having to wade through the average ones. It's my ambition to create a course at some point, although I'm going to wait until TGC2 in the hope the designer is a bit more user friendly. I think this site is going to explode when TGC2 comes out and that's going to be exciting to be a part of. Keep on designing, you talented people, and the likes of me will keep playing! Oh, and the chicks are pretty cool.

I've always avoided multiplayer like the plague, just never really got into it. Much like giraffe72, I've been playing golf games, but I go all the way back to "Leaderboard Golf" on the Commodore 64!! Links, Links386, Tiger Woods, etc., etc...but I just happened to find TGC one day while perusing through games on Steam, and thought I'd give it a go. What an awesome game, and then finding this community? Absolutely hooked!! I know this isn't true "multiplayer", but the competitive aspect of TGCTours keeps me coming back for more! Can't wait for TGC2!!

Can't wait for TGC2!! I started with Leaderboard as well, but on the ZX Spectrum! Wicked game, and I've had thoughts about trying to recreate one of those courses on here. Would be a bit of a joke course by today's standards but the nostalgia aspect would be good

Something to do at night and in the winter. Kidding, love the game and its challenges. Mastering a newly found swing technique and most of all playing online with guys from around the world.

For the game itself. Almost nothing. The novelty of an unlimited number of courses was what initially pulled me in. Once I started playing the game I found a perfectly competent golf game that did the golf part right but was so bare bones and so difficult to find a playable user created course that I put the game down after a month or two. Played a round here and there after that but never actively played the game until I found TGCT over a year later. This site manages to take a super bland game and make it into a gaming experience that is unlike anything else I've ever played before.
