After around 10yrs Nike pulls out of the game equipment wise. At peak they only managed to gain 9% of the market share and have recently been declining even further. Personally i never did like the Nike clubs whether it be irons, wedges or woods. Nike to me always seemed as though they were trying to buy success through commercialized promotion and not high quality. Ultimately people just didn't buy into all and voted with their wallets. Rory>Titleist?

Tiger's career meltdown is almost solely responsible for this IMO.

Tiger's career meltdown is almost solely responsible for this IMO. Isn't true. They hit peak 9% market when Tiger was at his best. Declined way before his pornstar days.

Declined perhaps, but not to the point of stopping altogether. Tiger sells - you only have to look at TV ratings when he is/isn't playing. They tried to replace him with Rory but he has nowhere near the same pull

Good riddance I say. They were never a proper golf brand. Ugly clubs too for the most part.
Then again, I don't like anything new(ish) when it comes to golf.

Never liked their stuff all that much. Used the balls once upon a time but went back to Titleist which I feel are much better for the price, since I don't lose many. Attire is pretty good, if not a bit overpriced, but they will be continuing that anyway.

This is what happens when you hitch your wagon to a star that implodes.
I'm a golf equipment snob anyway. I didn't like their stuff.
They should stick to shoes and clothes, which they have done.

I am bummed. I use Nike clubs and love them. I also pretty much exclusively play Mojo balls.
I might pick up a set on sale so I have them at the ready when it comes time for new ones.

Taylormade are also cutting down on golf equipment. Struggling to get the sales they need. So are Cleveland It's a shame for the less commercialized brands such as Cleveland, but I'm not sympathetic to brands like Nike, Taylormade etc etc. These are the brands that brought about these big money contracts to play their full set's, never been a fan of it.
