I forgot to mention that most companies these days use Chinese forges to make their clubs, only a handful of companies left that actually have a club forgery.

So are Cleveland It's a shame for the less commercialized brands such as Cleveland, but I'm not sympathetic to brands like Nike, Taylormade etc etc. These are the brands that brought about these big money contracts to play their full set's, never been a fan of it. As I understand it SRI who owns Cleveland Golf and Srixon is phasing out Cleveland to consolidate everything under the Srixon brand. I personally would have wanted to see it the other way around, but I guess the brand name matters little in the end. Still saddens me much like when the Ben Hogan brand disappeared.

There is a conspiracy that quite a number of top staffers from the popular brands are actually playing Miura and Mizuno irons stamped with a Nike or TM logo. Most folk say this is an urban myth but I can definitely see this happening.

Cleveland is nothing in Asia, Srixon is OK mid level brand. And golfers in Asia are actually prepared to pay for their equipment. So I don't imagine that strategic move took too much thinking. There are a couple of Japanese forges that make the high end stuff for pretty much everyone. Endo does the most and is supposed to be the best for production series with operation also in Thailand for the retail stuff I think and does the Japan market and boutique stuff in Japan while Miura has done a lot of pro sets from what I've gathered.

While what you say most definetly is true, I personally like the Cleveland Brand far more than Srixon
