Never been as stressed on a course as Royal Brumby... even in real life . You guys don't have it easy up here. Well, I'm on a sponsor's exemption this week. 69-65 for -10 thru Round 2. What do you guys think? Enough to make the cut? That's about what I'm shooting in practice. In fact, I seem to be doing a solid 5 under per round regardless of the conditions. Wind, no wind, doesn't matter. I'm good for 5 under a round and that's it. I'm waiting until Wednesday to play my rounds so I can get an idea of what I'm up against. If scores are higher than I expect, that'll take some of the pressure off. If not, and 10 under isn't even going to get me close, same deal. I'll play relaxed knowing I don't have a prayer. If 10 under looks like the cutoff, that's what's going to do me in because I am certain to choke. That's the dangers of score board watching for me. Anyway, I've still got a few more days to practice to hopefully maybe knock off an extra stroke per round.

I tried to play smart golf in Round 1, knocking in a birdie here and there when I had the chance. The winds blow at a steady 16 mph, getting up to 20 mph on a couple holes. Round 2 provides so many birdie opportunities. I could have easily been -10 in Round 2, but I screwed up more than a few times with my approach. Play well Wagtunes! Let's represent the CC-A tour well...

I honestly don't see this ending well, but I'll give it my best shot.

Wags. If you put up 5 under per round you will easily make the cut. Probably top 25. I just carded a +1 for round 1 to lay up for another missed cut. Friggin hate you pyates

Friggin hate you pyatesI'm hoping the score I saw in game for you on the Fri setup was just practice otherwise I'm not sure you'll forgive me . I'm guessing you tortured a few soles around Carolina Low. Perhaps this is payback ... likewise mine was probably qualifying for US Open only to record round 3 twice and get a DQ :s

-8 at the halfway point for me. Think I'll be a Webber for a long long time. Just cannot get anything going here.

If we could specify wind then same pins with 10mph in 4 directions would play very different. Maybe one day we'll get to pick winds, would be interesting setting up a course knowing what the wind will be. I'm going to play the 4 rounds as well just so I can see exactly how it plays in these conditions. I'll let you know how I do so you can have a go at beating the designer on this one... Why do I feel like I'm setting myself up here :s

Well the first round was horrendous but I finished with a -5 with 3-4 bogeys I was happy to say the least. Round 2 was more frustrating as I knew I had to score but feel in with a -7. Will make the cut easily IMO Congrats to my playing partner mrooola for his -10 in round 2 great bounce back from +1 on Thursday. My early shout for the cut (I'm never right) is -7 Good luck all bring your wind breakers

Did the 1st 2 rounds earlier....damn those winds were strong in the 1st round!!! Struggled home to finish it at even par. 2nd round I managed to claw something back and shot -9. Hopefully enough to make the cut. The highlands theme has never been a good one for me. I was going to do the 3rd & 4th rounds as well, stepped onto the 1st tee for the 3rd round and the saw a 13mph wind waiting for me....straight away said "nope" and backed out. I know I can't wait for winds to change and become calmer, but couldn't face another battering like in the 1st.
Best of luck to everyone this week, I was surprised not to see any double digit scores under par on the PS4 leaderboard...but I suppose it's still early and plenty of people still to tee off.

Well, I was finally able to setup a 2 day (Thurs/Fri) practice tour with conditions pretty close to what I'll be seeing, at least for round 1. Round 2's winds for the practice were also pretty strong (about 10 to 12 mph) but not as bad as round 1.
Anyway, shot 1 under and 7 under for the two rounds. If I can do this when it counts, I may come close, but I don't think it's going to be good enough and that may be for the best.
Really torn about all of this. Yeah, it would be cool to play in the Web. But then the reality of making cuts and playing some courses brutally worse than anything I've seen in CC makes this all not so appealing.
Point is, if I come up short, it may be for the best because I really don't think I'm cut out for this grind. I mean this course is plain exhausting. It's the first one I ever made charts for and in these conditions, I might as well just toss them out the window and play by my gut, which is pretty much what I just did.
Anyway, when Thursday comes I'll know either way.

I love a good links course (nice job, pyates, by the way), so I decided to play this for fun. Funnily enough, my best score came in that breezy first round, and my scores got worse as the tourney progressed. It's certainly a stiff challenge, so good luck, everyone!

I worked my way up through the CC tours to get up here and have even had a couple shots at the PGA (forgot to enter a score once, or i'd be up there to). Playing tough courses only makes you that much better., I hope you play well and stick around!
