I practiced a lot of Royal Brumby because I was sure I had zero chances to get the exemption. But the miracle became true, 2 exemptions in 2 consecutive weeks and now I'm gonna try my luck with the big guys. I still can't believe it. Good luck! You've got to almost treat it like two separate tournaments - I wouldn't even be thinking about rounds 3 and 4 just yet. I hope to see you still there when I return from my holidays next week

Best of luck Macs , if that is your real name I can clear this up for you Moe. Max is my partner in the Capricorn Tournament. His full name is Maximiliano (hope that spelling is somewhere close) Max for short. He's been playing really well lately and I'm sure all of us in the Web Tour wish him success in his bid to crack the big time. I'm just a little surprised he's gone for PGA not Euro. But what the hell - good luck anyway Max.

Well, going by the scores you guys are putting up, I'll be back in CC-A after this is over. My practice tours have never put out winds of more than 8 to 10 mph and the best I've been able to do is 5 under round 1 and don't even ask me about round 2. Between the max firm greens and the tucked pins on almost every freaking hole, I've done as badly as 1 over. My best, which was in 1 mph winds, was 8 under. I simply have no clue how to play this course. I have tried everything I know to get close to those pins to no avail. You can't come too close because of the green firmness and if you try to play it short, most holes have the greens sloping back down to the fairway, OR...the pins are so close to the fairway that playing short enough just leaves you off the green anyway. And watch out for hole 16. Trying to pitch up to that elevated green will send that ball back down to your feet if you're not careful.
In short, I picked a hell of a week to get a sponsor's exemption to this train wreck you guys call a tier.
Anyway, I'm gonna wait until Wednesday to see about where the cut line is before I tackle this evil course.
Whoever designed it should be shot, flogged, drawn and quartered and be forced to watch Brady Bunch reruns until the end of time.

Firstly don't brand the tour, every tour needs easy and difficult weeks. This week should be seen as a preview to those wanting to make it up to the PGA where those guys loved playing the equally difficult Tye Dunes. Setup in a very similar way, this week will test your firm and fast course management. All pins are accessible with the right shot, either with the right slope or, getting your tee shot into position to get an angle giving you maximum green to work with. Of course wind will affect how long the hole plays, against wind you'll have a lot longer shot in and may have to play for par. Scrambling, like on a real British links course is a must and a skill it will test. Not all holes will be birdie-able. I'm confused that you said your rangered the course but I never had any feedback from you saying the pins were overly tucked etc or couldn't support the firm conditions. And nooooo, not the Brady Bunch . Good luck when you do play it, I hope you surprise yourself

Gonna give credit to pyates and Moe Slorkman on this one (even if I personally don't like so many tucked pins on a course like in R2 with firm fairways). If the goal is to get people Euro-ready (PGA is just a joke ) this is the ideal course - we play courses like this 3/4 weeks out of 5...and you can all imagine how fun that is LOL Anywasy I'll bet my house the cut won't exceed 10 under

And nooooo, not the Brady Bunch . Good luck when you do play it, I hope you surprise yourself Patrick my man. One of the damn best designers in this game. Your courses are a masterpiece of art but a b%& to play. What I'm doing this week is making a chart for each hole and how to play it. I won't reveal my secrets here but that one par 3 that's about 123 yards away? I ace'd it my last practice round. Discovered a neat trick to get the ball to roll right towards the pin. And that one hole where the pin is all the way to the left with a big rock formation just to the left of it? I figured out how to play that hole too that leaves me with about a 10 to 12 foot straight putt for birdie. The only hole you have to be really careful with is 16. If you come up short of the green, the pitch up will send you back down to your feet if you don't hit it hard enough. You're better off going long on that hole and settling for par. I haven't done all that horribly in practice. Round 1 has been between 5 and 8 under but none of those in 20 mph winds so that could be a factor when I go live. Round 2 has the tougher pins and I've shot between 8 under and 1 over depending on conditions. That's the round I need to make the charts for. I have a few days to do it so I've got time. FWIW, as frustrating as this course is to play, it's also exciting as hell. It is anything but boring. And ultimately, if I don't make the cut, I don't make the cut. And all that means is I don't belong here and should probably be glad I missed it. Nothing wrong with playing in CC. Anyway, I'm going to do my best and let the chips fall where they may. PS - Beautiful course Patrick. Congrats on having it hosting the Web tour.

Hopefully you'll figure out how to tackle round 2 in the same way. I know the slope you mean on that par 3... Well found . I'm going to bet you do make the cut, and practice is definitely the way to get better and handle tougher courses. I say you would belong on the web.com. Good luck

Ripped it up till round 4. 66, 60, 66, 72. Frustrating last round, and started off +2 after 7 on the 3rd round but clawed it back nicely. Another 66 in the 4th round would have been marvellous.

And another missed cut has my game circling the drain. Ah yes, mired in the mediocrity that is my web career. See you at the range, I'll be the one sleeping on the bench.

Never been as stressed on a course as Royal Brumby... even in real life . You guys don't have it easy up here. Well, I'm on a sponsor's exemption this week. 69-65 for -10 thru Round 2. What do you guys think? Enough to make the cut?
