I may have missed mention of it on here, but I've just been looking on the HB forums, and it seems like we're gonna get some interesting swing difficulty changes coming to TGC soon!
Looks like there will be some sort of announcement around June 14th.
Interesting times! Could start to mix things up a bit!

Maybe they will bring back ball squirt as no one will admit it, but the elimination of it is the reason scores are so crazy low now. If its a tempo thing I will not like it at all.

Well, just briefly looked at the thread. Might be the nail in the coffin for me to quit if true.

I would be shocked if they completely changed the swing after two years of this game being out. All signs seem to point to TGC2.

I can't find the change in swing article? where is it? Also...HB wrote back to me about a week or so ago and stated something big was happening in June and that it was going to be a great month for TGC...I'm not sure what that means, but it sounds good.

If history is any indication it will just get easier.

They'll be announcing TGC2: Sweeney Golf.

I remember reading something about they are upgrading from unity 4 to unity 5 sometime soon. Somebody posted it on here not long ago but can't remember what the title of the thread is.

The name of the thread is HB verifies putting bug. It's on page 2 here in the clubhouse section.

When I was talking with Anthony about the putting bugs, he said that the developers could not be fixed in the current Unity 4 engine, but I should wait for the announcement in June. This tells me one of two things:
1. They are upgrading to Unity 5. 2. They are announcing TGC 2 with Unity 5.
Of course with it there may be new swings and such with a new version. Considering how much flak they got over the previous swing 'enhancements' I can't imagine they will do just a swing change. The only way they can get away with it is putting out a new game that is supposed to be more 'realistic' which could mean harder.

AK has pretty much Said they will be splitting the swing into several mechanics where harder execution translates to more length but keep current swing as the "base" or "easy" option.
I'm worried that it will only drive scores even lower. They should bring back the better mechanics we had for a couple of weeks and introduce a timing/transition component (not "tempo").

So it's about time to mess it all up again? I really hope they are not going to change the swing mechanics again on TGC. If it's all about TGC2, I'm fine with it.

If done correctly (best players find hard to be just that-HARD) it shouldn't as people will be missing fairways. Course designers can then release different tees to suit their desired challenge level. Under 6500 yards for beginners, 7000 yards for good players, 7500 yards for the best players as an example. So yes it will drive scores lower on shorter courses of under 7000 yards but it should drives scores higher on 7000+ yard courses as people would have to use a tougher swing method in order to play well on them and that means error off the tee will come into play.
