Personally I hope we all keep away from WIP threads. Let's just surprise everyone!

I've had the same dilemma, generally easier to make a course difficult with firm greens but it does limit you design wise a little bit if you want to ensure it still plays fair. I just hope six weeks is enough time to get it done (and that others decide to drop out so I can get in!) Yeah, I guess the sweet spot I'll aim for is 2 firm pin positions and 2 medium pin positions per green. For me, most of the time is taken up with starting. I can take weeks to settle on a style to go with, I don't like producing something that looks like anything others have produced but I also want it to look good... it's getting harder and harder to find that :-D. Fortunately I think I have something settled on, I'll just have to go for it I hope for your sake you get your chance... passed experienced suggests producing a course on the wait list isn't a waste of time. But the small number of committed designers might make drop outs less likely Even if I don't get in its at least given me the motivation to start a new course. After spending so many hours on Crooked Stick I hadn't planned on making another course but now I've started I'm enjoying doing so again.

I am needing some extra motivation to actually finish a course so hopefully this helps. I have had a lot of projects lately that spin out at the 4 - 5 hole stage.

Personally I hope we all keep away from WIP threads. Let's just surprise everyone! Totally agree with this...... Spoils the contest in my opinion. Should be a "cannot publish before" date too, which worked well on the last "random wheel of fortune theme" competition.

"Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say."

How's everyone doing so far? I've got three holes in and the clubhouse area started ... Man I hope this six weeks will be enough time

Routing done. General background sculpting done. First two holes have their fairways/greens/bunkers laid out. Gonna be saving the more intricate sculpting and planting for last.

I have lighting and name done. Also two holes done, but since I don't really like any of them I guess all I really have is a name
