Seeing those scores, still pretty low, kind of depresses me; I'm not sure -12 is going to make it. Well, until next week then!

If it makes others feel better: R1 = -7 R2 = -1 So, after a fairly good round one, I'm looking at missing the cut. Had an easily makeable birdie on 18 for round two that I just flubbed, probably giving me the weekend off. My constant struggle when 12 to 18 feet away (and off the green): Chip or flop? I should know by now that I should always choose flop when faced with this decision. I can't chip anything over twelve feet without it actually rolling twice the distance I want it to, leading to a dropped shot or two.

Decided to play my 3rd and forth round this evening.
The 3rd round was decent, nothing really interesting going on, it was a lackluster 68 (-6) where I sent 5 balls in the bunker, a few missed putts and very poor placement on the green.
4th round went a lot better, I once again forgot about putting with confidence in the 3rd round, so I went Rambo again with great success. I was able to place my second shots near the pin most of the time, still had a couple balls in the bunker but it went much much better. 65 (-9)
So for my total: 71-65-68-65 = -27. It is currently the second best score on PC, 20 shots (!) back from MrKuo! The thing is, I might not even make the cut this week, -12 being on the fence I would believe.
Overall, it was a nice week I think, the course played a lot harder than on practice for some reason, it might just be the stress! Now I'm going to enjoy a few drinks and cigars, a la Rambo.
Stay Thirsty, my friends and see you next week.
Lino.

If you hadn't read my earlier post i went -8 / -1 so if you want to sit beside my on the Flight tomorrow to Demon Host please do we can console each other and drink way to much and force an emergency landing somewhere near New York just in time for St. Patricks Day and sure @!$# it well make a weekend of it! My friends tell me I have a habit of coming on a bit strong.

If it's uphill chip, if it's downhill flop is my general rule bigtallchris but it is one of the hardest shots in the game. The real round 1 and not an albatross in sight. I was inches away from a hole in one but that was about as exciting it got. I started solidly with 2 birdies and when I got to -4 after 6 I was in a good mood. I also managed to birdie 8 and 11.The 10th had been a let down. I had played the par 5s and short par 4s well up until that point by not risking anything but on the 10th my tee shot found the rough and from there it was a struggle. I hit my only birdieless stretch of the round between 12 and 16 although I was glad enough my make par on most of the holes. Most holes were against a high wind. I finally got a birdie on 17 and even then it was a chip in. -7 with a par 5 to play. I was already giving myself the birdie. My second shot was well overhit. I was pleased it ran off the back of the green. I was left with a very tricky shot. I went for a 35 yard foot flop shot. If it was short it was back down the hill, if it hit it long it's back off the front of the green. I must not have made good contact and my flop shot fell short, rolling right down onto the lower tier. I now knew that's birdie was out of the question and a bogey as likely as a par. I was left with a very tricky putt and I didn't have the balls to hit it hard enough. I was 12 feet short. I miss this sort of putt on a regular basis. The feeling when I sunk it was as better than the birdies I had made on the round I'm very satisfied with bogey free -7. I love the course, I'd play courses like this every other week at least. A hard but fair test of web.com skills. Great design and great choice. Now do I play round two now or take a break until tomorrow?

I don't think -12 will be on the fence so that's a really good score for the weekend Lino!

The answer to my previous question was no, I should not have carried on. Par on first and triple bogey on 2nd including a 2 inch tap when I tried to stop a swing but failed. TV is going out the window.

I followed up my round 1 (-5) and Round 2 (-10) with a disappointing Round 3 (-3) and Round 4 (-5) For a total of -23.
I take solace in the fact that I was +1 after 8 in the last round. I eagled the long approach on #9 to finish the front at -1 before going on a roll on the tougher holes on the back 9 to finish -5.
I am in no way, shape, or form disappointed with my performance here and I look forward to the future here on Web.
The only thing about the whole event that pisses me off? There's a bridge just hovering over the river off to the right, viewable from 10. I have no idea how it got there...

Par Par - missed a short putt which the grid Lord thought was straight but wasn't, from the other angle it was well sloped. Controller is now out of the window. Par Par, birdie putt left agonising short. Gold fish out the window Birdie yey, finally. (I'm hearing sirens in the distance, slightly worrying) 9th hole, shocking bounce to end up in rough from the tee. Oh and now a 92% shot, sliced pitch shot but par made 10th sliced flop shot from 35 yards ends up 28 feet away. Putt just missed, another par Birdie, long putt went in for once. I'm on the come back trail. 12th, Hugh hook into the rough. I've never hooked and sliced like this for weeks. My flop shots are shocking on this round. 12 feet for par ........missed by an inch. Maybe not on the comeback trail then. Par Par putt went all the way around the hole on 14, Ipad out the..... Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. 7 foot birdie missed on 15 by inches. Par. I've completely lost the plot now, I'm freezing and in handcuffs. 17- finally a bit of luck, a good bounce leaves a 6 foot birdie chance. Goes round the edge again. You can't make this s@#t up 18th, finally another birdie. +2 for the round. Now that my friends is how you blow a good position, cut missed, if I'm the dynamic cut line this week there's a whole load of you getting through.
My equal highest score ever, matching my first round on here around a year ago(I know this was a par 74 but still!) Playing tonight was the biggest mistake of my golfing life since giving my golf membership up at the age of 18 to get a Newcastle season ticket instead. I hate this course, the designer and especially the person who chose the course. If I ever find out who it is! Once I get out of jail, I'll be round.

My friends tell me I have a habit of coming on a bit strong. First drinks are on me! Bushmills 10-year Single Malt Irish whiskey to start. We may need some "watchers" to watch us and keep us out of trouble. If it's uphill chip, if it's downhill flop is my general rule bigtallchris but it is one of the hardest shots in the game. Thanks for the tip! Those downhill chips always run away from me, so I'll try out that strategy. I purposely played bad in the 2nd round, because.....subconsciously, I wanted to leave my weekend open to watch as many of the college basketball tournament games this weekend...yeah, that's it! It's March Madness here in the USA!

Hey all. Pretty new here and to the Tours. After my first Top 10 showing last week, this week the lip outs bit me in the rear. Partially leaving myself tough putts, partially dumb bad luck. Even 2 footers seemed to want to stay out. Oh well, onto next week.

I'm now serverly regretting going for the Eagle chip in on 18 now and walking off with a par.
Could be the difference in making the cut.
Also 33 putts on the second round setting all kinds of records this week haha.
