Pretty happy with my first two rounds, ended up with a -8,-7 with pretty consistent play. It's nice to play a course where a par doesn't feel like a dropped shot. There are defiantly holes where par is a good score, and holes that should be birdied. Course management will be key this week.
I'm guessing the cut might be -10 but I will leave it up to the watchers to decide for sure.
Good luck all.

Looking at scores coming in I'm expecting the cut to be -8 to -10
I've done a practice tour and had -7, -4, -7, -4. I would be happy enough with that for the real thing. It's tough this week. I did score an Albatross on the 15th I think on round 2, that was a cracker!

The first shot of round two went to far left, it just about stayed on the fairway but there was a tree blocking my way. I played around the tree well, planning to leave the ball short for a flop on to the green but ended up on the green leaving a nasty downhill forty foot putt, stopping the ball was going to be a problem and I was happy enough it only rolled seven feet past. I made the birdie putt coming back for a positive start. I was in a interesting situation, I needed birdies to have any hope of making the cut but if I take to many chances, I would be in trouble, smart play was needed, I hate smart play so much. I will struggle to play another shot as good this round as my approach on the second. The crosswind made it a difficult approach, I aimed well right and played heavy draw into the wind, the ball landed about fifteen feet from the hole and rolled right on line towards the cup, it stopped about a foot short for a tap in birdie. My tee shot on the third was also a good shot, no tap in this time but the seven foot putt was make able. It was a dream start, now to avoid the stupids. Hole four and a combination of pin position and wind direction meant I was never putting it close, the ball as expected went off the back of the green, normally I would go all out with a chip shot in this position, this time, I just wanted the ball close for a safe par, which is what I did. I thought about going for the green in two on five, then I thought better of it, then I thought what the hell and went for it, again using draw into the wind, I played a good approach and left a twenty foot eagle putt, slightly up hill so I could really go for it, three inches to the right, that's all that stopped eagle but no complaints about tap in birdie. Yesterday I mentioned I was a confidence player and confidence was high but i also know that I can be reduced to a crumbling wreck with one poor shot. My approach on six was a test of that confidence, my least favourite distance around a hundred and ten yards, I past the test when I put the ball within three feet and birdie. A safe par is all I wanted on seven and that's what I got, I could have taken a riskier tee shot but it was time to calm things down, a thirty foot lag putt brought safe par. My first mistake of the day came on eight when I made the green with my tee shot, I was trying to play it close to the edge with out going on the green but the bounce took me on. It was always going to be a three put from there, safe par but a chance missed. My second mistake came on nine, I should have played a iron shot on approach, even if it did not make the green, a chip would have been better than a forty five foot putt, one foot down hill, my putt went way past the hole, again though my confidence level still being high, I made a good par putt coming back to finish what was a good front nine.
The worrying thing now was that mistakes where creeping into my game and that trend continued on ten. First I missed the fairway, I then decided to risk a long iron over the water, it just about cleared the water but hit the fence and bounced back, luck was with me this time as it stopped at the waters edge. I rushed my third shot, I just wanted to be safely on the green,I had no chance of birdie but was relieved to take par. I needed one good shot to get the confidence back up, before I tried to hard and made a mess of a hole. It did not come on eleven when I hit my approach to hard, bogey was not a issue but neither was birdie. I did not find the green on twelve, not a disaster by any means but it did mean another par and I did need to pick up another couple of birdies before time runs out, the long par four were making that difficult. Another long put for birdie on thirteen, inches from dropping but it did not drop and those misses are costly. I finally picked up my first birdie of the back nine on fourteen, it was a difficult putt, eleven feet breaking heavily, the sound of it hitting the cup was a joy. The short par five fifteenth was a basket full of temptation, resisting going for the green in two was the toughest moment of the day, made even tougher when I made a mess of my flop shot and instead of birdie I was fighting for par. Still risking the water would have been the height of stupidity, par better than bogey. I went seven under on sixteen, as with all holes on this course, the approach is key, mine was not perfect, seven feet from the cup but I kept my nerve for birdie. I left myself with a nightmare putt on seventeen, right at the back on the green, seventy feet or so, downhill, heavy break, thirteen feet was as close as I could get, making par here brought the loudest shout of the day, one to go. I was so nervous on eighteen, a par five so birdie chance but I also knew nothing is easy on this course. My second shot took the ball off the back of the green, I left out such a groan when I saw the chip I faced, red lines speeding across the green in front of me, if I got this wrong, who knows where my ball would end up. Chipping in was not a option, I lofted up as much as I dared, aimed well right of the flag and watched my ball roll. I knew it was going to roll, the question was how much, five feet was the answer, no gimme putt, I took a deep breath and slotted it home, to finish eight under.
That was tense, it was exciting, my nerves are shattered. I left shots out there, I pulled out some miracle pars. Even if I don't make the cut, I am leaving Gray Raven a happy man. I played to the best of my ability and can not ask for anything more. I have said it before but this is a fantastic course, a joy to play where every birdie is earned. The designers other courses should also be checked out, they are worth playing. Good luck all.

I think that will make the cut Rob, it will be good to have you up in the web. Nice to see some familiar faces from my challenge circuit days making a appearance, progression is the name of the game and it's great to see people moving forward.

Hopefully mate seen a lot of good scores put up in rd 1 already "gulp" it was only a few weeks ago that I thought I wasn't going to make it and even thought I might have to drop down, but somehow I've upped my game, maybe I just clicked with the courses? I don't know but will definitely be a challenge and need to up my game again what with the faster and firmer greens on the web, well that's if I make it!

This is the sickest feeling ever currently sitting T8 on the board knowing there's an 80% shot your getting cut.
What happened? Did some one tamper with my clubs? Did my caddy mislead me? Will my controller ever work again? So many questions and honestly bar me throwing away a easy birdie on 18 going for the chip in eagle I can't figure out how I was 7 shots worse in easier conditions!
I need a physiologist (think that's the right professional)
Seriously cracking up over this!
