This thread needs more love. I read some good suggestions. And after all OP starts a discussion with good intentions, I strongly believe. Don't get it when people get pissed over merely a suggestion. Changes will probably be implemented and it's all fine by me. The day I don't enjoy playing is the day I salute you and quit. It's all in the head This thread needs more love.

Courageous post Brian. I don't mind the zoom into landing areas because we're not out there actually walking the course. The ghost balls in my opinion give to much help to a player. I think scores would go down some if they were not used in tourneys. Like Mike said, we're playing almost the same winds every shot, it's too easy to just follow a ghost. Also, with the ghost gone, the thought process of setting up your shot becomes much more important.

I just don't see how you come to any kind of consensus on any of these. Even the cheaters... Some want to give 2nd chances. That is fine for innocent mistakes of not knowing the rules when new is one thing. Blatant and obvious skirting of rules for the sole benefit of lower scores, etc. is the kind of one and done for me. Someone creates numerous accounts and plays them here in the same tournaments? How can anyone not know that is out and out wrong? Thd first two are restrictions and would turn away some members. I dont get how adding restrictions "helps" tgct, but thats just me. Especially #1. I dont understand waiting on releasing a course. People want to practice 20 times. Cool. Dont care. Often these setups get tweaked 1-3 weeks out of the event. Pebble just got firmed up and multi pinned in the last few days. #2) I use ghosts. Dont care if others use mine. I mostly use them just for a sense of fairway rollout ans green rollout on the 1st 2-3 holes. The rest is to note how other top players are doing hole by hole. But turn em off. Dont care. I will still enjoy this game. But others may not. You may not like the reasons why people enjoy them... But in the end you take away from the experience of others. 3) Been over this one. Blatant cheater. Gone for good. Bye. 4) Too many variables. Bad connections. Not understanding or liking to stream. I have before many times but i dont much anymore. I find since i dont use a mic that i feel that i have to type and respond back in the chat room. It distracts me as i am a precise and calculated player. Some changes in the future will be restrictions, some will be additions. In the end its about finding the right blend for a video game competition. I personally just want it fair. I want everybody to hav the same opportunities. for me 2) The kind of info ur lookin for with ghosts shud not be available in my opinion. I think it shud be the players responsibility to work things out themselves. 3) Agree completely 4) Ye i understand connections may not be great, thats why i suggested an upload to a TGCT youtube page that could become a weekly PGA/EURO show. If for eg it was for the top 20 u could hav 2 players a week stream or upload that wud mean everyone in the top 20 does it once every 10 weeks.

Cheers Rob, Ye the zoomin into landin areas is good in my opinion, I think some people hav reservations about that because of the ghosts and u can see where and how far out the balls are landing and rolling. Ye i think the score wud come down a bit too. I think it wud be for the gud of the competition if we cud remove ghosts.

To me #1 and #2 seem pointless. Why don't you want people to know courses and practice? Especially for people wanting to closely pick a course with their sponsor exemptions, the transparency of the schedule is key. I like being able to map out my plan for which courses to play. For ghost balls, why can't they be used? Turn them off if you don't want them. If you can play live with your buddies but no ghost balls, that seems to be a bigger exploit than a rule where anyone can use ghosts which evens the field.
For#4, I have open broadcasting to my steam friends, so anyone can come watch anytime.

Hello Dale, the reason I wouldn't turn them off now is because I'm at a disadvantage if I don't use them. If everyone was shooting without a ghost, then I'm all for it. I think what Brian was saying is that you could play with a buddy turn enabled.

Having four ghost though dale is a bit of a advantage mate. Its not like people use any ghosts, they select the best ones. I dont kno anybody who plays there comp live with a friend. Also the top players i know of all prefer to play their own shot. I'm not to fussed about people practicing as i do it myself. Ghost balls would would make it slightly harder for people.

U prob havnt read all the responses Dale n I dont blame u lol, #1 My idea to wait until a few days before a tourny to reveal the course was to try even the playin field for ppl who dont hav hrs a day to practice tourny courses and map out the course. It wud also be easier on the admin side as well . #2 As has been stated a few times above in my opinion there is too much info given while playin with ghosts, as im sure ur aware players can play with ghosts and zoom in and use the ball to judge exact roll outs on greens and fairways and i believe that the player shud hav to judge them things for themselves. there has been some good ideas on here about the ghost thing. Not being able to zoom in while ghost balls are in flight is a gud alternative.

If hb could turn ghosts and live play off for comps it would be best.

I didn't read them all.
I think removal of ghosts would be great actually, but then you can't play with friends either. Either ghosts for all, or none. If people don't have friends to play simultaneously then they would be at a disadvantage. There's no disadvantage now to anyone (except for people who want to play first or without ghosts)

Sure its only 2-4 rnds a week in regular events that ud hav to play solo. Its not like someones entire TGC experience is being ruined. I think it wud be best for the competition. Plus i reckon it wud bring average weekly scores down which seems to be something most people want.

The weekly scores got ridiculous with the last wind (or lack thereof) "fix" and the elimination of ball squirt.
