Hi All, Just thought id share a few thoughts of mine that I think would make TGCTours a better experience. Note: I am aware that some things aren't possible and would require help from HB. 1) Tournament courses revealing- I'd like to see courses for future events held back until about 5 or 6 days before they start. Currently we know weeks and sometimes months before an event what course we will play and this leads to course mapping, where some players will play the arse of a course in the weeks before it and know the course inside out before playing the event. I know its not against any rules, i just don't like it. 2) Ghost use- I'd like to see the removal of ghosts for TGCTours events as in my opinion there are far too many people who rely on them to show them the shots to be playing. Maybe if it could be allowed that u can only play with other live players who are in the event that may be ok as a compromise. 3) One strike and ur out policy for cheaters- I'd like to see a one strike and your out policy for anyone caught breaking the rules re: Straight shooting, multiple accounts etc. The current system encourages people to try things once and see if you get away with it too much for me. 4) Streaming rounds spot checks: I'd like to see a rule come in where if ur a top 10 or 20 WGR player there are random events where 1 or 2 players have to stream 1 or all rounds of their tournament, for the sake of transparency and entertainment These are just a few things id like to see, im well aware some cant or wont happen but none the less there my opinions. Feel free to leave some of ur own or comment on mine. Where is "a nude Salma Hayek as your caddy"? Come on, man. Put some thought into it. OK, some thoughts: 1. I'm not necessarily against this, but I'd like to point a different view. IRL, the PGA guys know well in advance where they will be playing. While they can't physically go there to play over and over, there's nothing to say they can't have their own simulation of those courses in their basements they can use to practice. And, well, everyone's equal in being able to practice a lot. Given, I know most of us have something called "a life." We aren't all like Doyley sitting in our mother's basements all day covered in orange Cheetos dust playing TGC. But we all COULD play a lot... 2. Perhaps limit it to one ghost vs. three? I don't watch ghosts to decide where to hit, but I like the virtual feeling of not playing alone. I'm alone too much. I'm lonely. Hug me, smurf. Hug me. 3. We've battled on this before...and I'm still a second chance person. BUT....there should be a real penalty for it. So here's what I suggest if someone is caught cheating to the point the admins have to act: a. A post is made on the forum identifying the person caught cheating. This way there's transparency on that. b. The person in question gets an option: Publicly (in that thread) admit it, apologize and ask forgiveness or be banned. Explain why they did it. Take the vitriol of the community for their actions. In most cases, that will be too much for someone to handle and they'll chose the banning option. c. If the person owns up and is now publicly known as having cheated, they are given a three month suspension, stripped of all WGR points and money and is returned to CC-Z upon their return. For the rest of the game year where the cheating took place, they will be ineligible to win tournaments. So even if they come in #1, they don't get credit for the win. They can still move up, to prepare them for a full return the following game year, but they cannot win any trophies. d. After the game year where they committed the offense, they are returned as a regular member. They can't erase the stigma they'll have in the minds of folks like you, Smurf Assassin, but they've paid a price and get a second chance. They get busted again, they're history. 4. I don't think we should force anyone to stream if they don't want to do it.

1,2 and 3 agree. Dont see the point in number 4 as marshalls are playing enabled against ghost balls anyway.

1,2 and 3 agree. Dont see the point in number 4 as marshalls are playing enabled against ghost balls anyway. Are marshalls still doing that? I thought the API done away with that. Playin against someones ghost isnt the same to me, ghosts and cones lie alot. It'd be good fun once a week gettin to see a top 10 or 20 player play there tourny. At least then we feel like we know all the top players and dont hav any silent assasins

Haven't read all the replies but HB should absolutely allow tournament creators to disable ghosts. I've been saying this for a while and it seems like an incredibly easy fix on their end. HB seems to have an attachment to ghosts for some reason. They delayed the wind patch for months because of some minor issue involving ghosts. F the ghosts.

And the wind patch has plummetted scoring as we rarely get sustained 10+ in a tournament. Careful what you ask for.
Playing a regular round one can cue up tournament ghosts. There are just so many ways around things. Plug one hole and someone finds another loophole.

I doubt there are many who prefer strong wind more than I, but the wind patch is undoubtedly a MASSIVE improvement over the old system.
That said, one glaring flaw in the new system is the ability to go to school on ghosts from tee to green. This is easily remedied by HB, but they curiously show no interest in simply providing the option of disabling ghosts in tournaments.

#1. Don't care. I maybe play a course once (1 round each day) before the tournament.
#2. Wouldn't want to see this changed. I use ghosts and it helps me, there is no doubt about that. It is just how I choose to play. I just read a thread about players not using putting distance adjustments and just using aim and putter pull-back to putt. that is how they choose to use it. Why not ban using the shot grid and make players use their back swing to adjust distance? It is a game folks.
#3. How many people are cheating? Is this a big problem? What is considered cheating? I have heard of people using multiple accounts, not sure how that helps. I have also read about straight shooters but again, you still have to have a fine touch to get distance and putting down. Is cheating rampant?
#4. Don't care. Wouldn't want this. I play at weird times and my Internet is not the greatest.
I keep reading about "change this, change that" and I have to say I am guilty myself. However, I am beginning to feel like there has been a little too much of this lately. I would suggest that we only make changes at the end of the season or dedicate one forum to changes. I have to think that the Admins are getting a little tired of the complaints.

Also, ghost keep us honest. There are many times I would like to chip instead of putting 100ft. But without ghosts, there is no way to police that.

Multiple accounts would get the ultimate chance at mapping a course. A multiple account user on Web last year had a win and a t2 in the same tournament among other names.
Hit a shot. Note how you missed. Adjust in next name.
Do this among 4, 5 names and you can see how it could benefit.

I assume you can't practice the course, why else would anybody ever suggest that no-one else should be able to practice the course. Really, we can't practice now. Should I delete my range as well. Maybe no one should be allowed to login and play either. Only play allowed is tournament rounds, that's all.
And nerf playing with friends as well, you only need 1 ball to hit before you to get an idea of what the rollout will be. Nerf it all not this half way BS because you may like to play with friends, nerf the whole shooting match, no ghosts, no friends no nothing.
Fine don't release the course ever. Since we cant practice or play, does not much matter anymore.
So if later you say you are not looking for straight shooting, WTF are you looking for, what do you know the rest of us don't. Spit it out, stop this run around suzie secretive BS with innuendo and state it bluntly, how are people cheating? How is nerfing practice going to nerf cheating.
What you don't find this fun, I find it fun, I have set myself quite a little routine that you are trying to nerf with your number 1. I still don't get even if I play the course several times what more knowledge I'm gaining from playing it once. Just so happens I rarely ever play any other course but the tournament courses. Sure I play the odd one released by people, but mostly I stick to the tournament courses.
Why, why not, is the way I figure it. I don't see much point in playing other courses. Even in RL I play the course around the corner from me 200 times a year. I go to Myrtle once per year to play 8 days, 5 of which are courses I have played before. I particularly enjoy playing courses many times way more than playing new courses. So yeah this pisses me off because you are coming up with BS reasons to nerf my practice of the courses because I choose to practice the courses. No other reason then that, just because I practice the course, I enjoy practicing the course, you see the need to nerf that. So yeah I'm pissed and I see it as a personal hit.
I have never done a thing to you. Your rule does nothing as well except spoil it for me, what's to stop anyone from playing the course after they know what it is and before they play their rounds. I don't have to play on Saturday, I can delay till Wednesday or Thursday, what exactly has been accomplished for you other then my enjoyment of the game getting nicked. Does that give you pleasure, nerfing my enjoyment of the game.
I think you are a paranoid delusional attempting to gather up the forces of the other paranoid delusional with this everybody is cheating crap.

1) Waste of time. People would just practice until they feel ready and play on Thursday if need be. Knowing in advance is good and it gets the designer more plays too.
2) No ghosts would be lame. I play live against my mate. Doesn't concern me that others can play against ghosts.
3) second chance kind of guy but there has to be some stern punishment. That I think there is already??
4) nah.
