I'd like to hear from those of you that haven't played a TST event yet. What is stopping you? We are trying to find a good idea of what we can do here. Thanks again for this thread. I play on the Web and usually make the cut. (I'm a mediocre player) For me, it's green reading. But, to be fair, I've never really given it a fair shot. Maybe I will now. FWIW, I've been playing this way for just over a year, and have still yet to master green reading. I'm getting better, but just like real golf, it's a process. One day you got it, and one day you don't...or one week in my case

Just a heads up, for those interested, TST will have Secondary Events that are geared for more forgiving settings of no-aids golf. We are working on filling up the schedule, starting in Week 22, and more details will be posted soon. If you have not already, Sign up for the True Sim Tour: www.tgctours.com/Tour/Signup?tourId=5

I might give it another go although got pretty frustrated last time around.

It is going to be only for those outside the Top 40 (we are still determining the cut off here, but 40 is where we are currently) of the current TST Fedex Points. As a participant on the Secondary Event, you will still be allowed to play in the regular TST Event. Our aim is going to be easier courses that are more about introducing this style of play, but also allow them to represent what you may see on the TST's main tour. We have developed a course committee specifically for these Secondary Events. With more participation, this could open the doors to either a second tour format or tier format for the True Sim Tour. That is still very early, but Secondary Tours will allow us to gauge on where to start. The details are still being discussed regarding how it will coincide, point/rank/money,etc, with the current TST. However, we feel really good about this opportunity to expand upon what has been a successful inaugural season for TST.

ok - I'm sold. Not worried about points or money. Just looking for more ways to enjoy this game and learn. I gave up fairly early last time even though I didn't miss any of the cuts. Just got frustrated never understanding the putting mechanics after practicing and watching videos and reading tips....nothing clicked for me. But I'm willing to try it again. Signing up now...

Awesome, man. I do plan on hosting some live TwitchTV putting lessons in the near future. I'm not great by any means, but I know why I miss, and that's golf for you - knowing what you need to do, then executing it. Ever need help like that PM me too, I'm on Twitch practically every night "http://www.twitch.tv/matt10l "

Most everyone who hangs their hat here is competitive at some level but for a lot of us it's just as much about having fun, good-natured, competition with our friends and doing whatever we can to help each other to improve their skills. You wont find that in many other "competitive" gaming leagues.

This coming week the top 40 are playing in the WGC - Cadillac at Trump National. The rest will be playing a secondary event at a very good course at Conklin. A chance for people outside the top 40 to try and be competitive.
Secondary events like this are looking to be made every week with the option still open of playing the main tournament and going up against the big boys if you would prefer.

This week we can't get in the main event as it says invite only The current plan (not yet locked) is to start these proper secondary events alongside week 22 events the week after next week. Are you meaning for next week? WGC events (next week is one), Majors, and The Players Championship have invite criteria. It is still open for discussion on how these evnts will be handled in the future, but right now for week 21 we are going with invite only and assessing for future big events. Week 24 WGC is a match play event and a set max field is needed (32). This would likely need to stay at a max # of participants of 32. How we get 32 to actively verify their intent to play is still being worked out. Big events in the future (week 26 Masters next) and into the future are being discussed structure wise for field availability.

The thing I liked about RGT was we could play every event but because I'm not in the top 40 I can't play next weeks event at trump doral, will the masters this year be limited to top players on TST I played it last year on RGT

This week we can't get in the main event as it says invite only Because it's a WGC it's invite only to the top 40. There is a secondary event running alongside it called 'International Players Open'. It will be played at The Players Club, Conklin NY. From next week on, however, we are looking at running a secondary event alongside the main tournament and you'll get to choose which event you want to partake in. The only criteria being the top players will have to play the main tournament as secondary events will be geared more towards the causal TST player.
