Pitty of fourth round, that is going to cost me another exemption... Indeed, pitty of 18th hole in the fourth round...

Well boys...I don't know if everyone knows or not..but I requested a promotion to CC-C based on my win @ the Cracked Open. Under the new "auto-promotions" guidelines for the CC Tours any past winners this season before the implemented change can request a promotion to the next tier up. So I now have my permanent CC-C Tour Card. It's a personal thing..I feel I need to push myself more in this game and that will only come by competing in the higher tier of CC-C. If it turns out I can't compete up there..so be it...but I have to take on the challenge. I'll miss you boys in D...but I'm certain a good number of you will be joining me soon. Onward and Upward in 2016!!!

Gonna be a lot of movement Jim with the temporary changes announced for February. You could slot easily into A or B if you put your mind to it.

Which is why I felt now was the best time to submit my request for promotion. If all goes well during movement month I could find myself staring at a potential move to CC-B or A.

I've really lost the ability to hit fairways, hit 33% of them in the first round to shoot 68, that's not a bad round to shoot missing that many fairways but I shouldn't be missing that many fairways. Just felt like I was scrambling the whole course. 68-74-67-73 (6-) to probably just be lucky to miss a strike.

Well, because of somebody who has no business being in E Class (exempt this week in D class with me) I will be going back down to E Class next week. All other E Class exemptions into D class shot reasonable scores for the week and had the top one of them been the one I had to shoot within reach of, I'd have earned my D card this week.
My only consolation is that this person, who has only been in now 5 tournaments, has won 3 of them and will place 2nd in this one and yet somehow was put in E class out of Q School, will be out of my hair next week as he goes into C Class and I'll finally have a chance of moving up against people who didn't sand bag their way into this thing.
Sorry folks, it exists. You don't qualify for the lower classes and then immediately the next week shoot like a pro and do it consistently. I'm not talking about a player who has been around for a while in the tours. I'm talking about somebody who has been in all of 5 tournaments whose average score is in the low 60s.
If it looks like and duck and acts like a duck, it's a duck.
Don't get me wrong. I'll never compete for anything in D Class. I'll finish above the strike line and that's about it, forever to be stuck there. But there is no question I do belong there. And had it not been for this one person, that's where I'd be next week.
Like I said, at least he'll be out of my hair.
Now that that's out of my system, looking forward to the upcoming birdie fest that will be this week's course.
-44 to -48 under is going to take it in E Class. I'll finish somewhere in the middle (about 50th out of a hundred) based on my average scores here.
Good luck.
** EDIT ** Did some more checking on this guy. Seems that he went from D Class down to E Class even though he never got any strikes. How is this even possible? He should have never dropped back to E Class in the first place after he went from E to D on January 4. So how the hell did this even happen?

He won the tournament the last week of December..which would have given him an exemption to the next week's tournament. But he didn't play again until last week...so that's why he was back in CC-E.

Sorry wags, I am in the same boat as you, wanted my d-card, but unlikely to get it now. My bone of contention was the fact from Tuesday night I knew I had no chance,as the guy you mentioned was already -16 under and I was 6 holes in and any mistake was intensified as I knew I couldn't afford any more. But hey, that's what we signed up for, competition golf. I think the problem lies with the rule rather than the player. I know how much I have improved since starting, I only figured out putting about 3 weeks ago. The -10 rule on exemption ,if you have a player who should be playing much higher it is obviously flawed.Look at the leaderboard, even the 2nd placed promoted guy is 11 shots back! Surely the -10 should count down from the second placed sponsored exemption just to nullify any player that may fly through the ranks. Just a thought. The February rule changes should be more beneficial for all players who get a chance with a sponsor exemption. But we wait and see. I love this game, this site and I can't remember being so excited about another game by finishing 5th in a pretty low echelon of a computerised version of golf as I did last week. Any way enough of my yakking I need to shoot -50 to stand any chance of getting an exemption next week. Best go and practice.

But you see, that's wrong. If he gets an exemption, he shouldn't be able to "bypass it" by just not playing. He should still have it and have to play the next tournament in that class with the exemption no matter how many weeks he decides not to play. It infuriates me when players abuse the rules like this just to be able to finish higher in the tournament they're playing. They should have to play in the class that they belong and NOT in the class that they want to be in.

You'll still get people who abuse them..but it will be to a lesser extent. I took advantage of the ruling changes and opted to move up to CC-C because I feel that is where I truly belong. Even if I finish 20-30 spots lower than what I was in D..I can still strive to get better. In D I was almost getting complacent.

This was the most unplayable course for this season. The low scores that were posted are hard to take with my scores. I don't see why this course made it to our flight. Just too unrealistic greens slops and pin placements. My hat off to those with low scores!!! Well done!! Just not enough time to practice during the week to master this one. Singing the poor pitiful me blues!
