A very challenging course, tho I see Doyley has been around in the approval process with some of the pins on top of mountains I swear it has to be a guilty pleasure of his. Firm greens and the hole a top a mountain with severe slopes on all sides. Thankfully if you miss, at least you'll end up off the green most of the times (albeit 16-40 yards away) so you get to flop up. I won't say anything about pins tucked behind trees. Fine shoot for the middle of the green, but oh wait you can't cause it slopes away from the hole and you are 15-40 yards away Doyley you are a sick, sick, sick man.

Played Setup D quickly yesterday and shot -6.
Tricky for sure. Depending on the wind i'd still expect a winning score around -40 though so it's hardly ridiculous

Bit harsh, found it hard to enjoy. You literally cant land any of the par 3s.

Very interesting course, I seen set up 'd' is being used in rds 1 + 4 so iv only been round that one, at first I did Think this was brutal however after completing a couple of rounds I managed 2 shoot -10 so I guess if the other pin set ups are similar it will still take -40 or better to win

I loved the course and shot -6 on Setup D two times with bogey's so Jack is right about the winning score being around -40. Very tricky course but you can still score. My mistakes were from practising chip shots so -9/-10 is very possible around this course.

There are definitely holes you can go for birdie and about 6 or so that you have to figure out where to go just to secure par. You definitely cannot become complacent, cause this course will bite ya. Still better than the PGA hee

Had two sessions on setup D - managed a few -6's and then hit a -10. I feel that someone will likely hit -12 or even -13 if winds are low.
This is a great fun course to play though, figuring out the best landing spots around the greens had me engrossed and a number of holes required some very careful judgement over club selection and swerve.
My only main complaint is the tall tree guarding the approach on hole 10 which seems a bit unfair as, if you want to roll across the green for the hole, it's almost impossible to avoid clipping it, regardless of fairway positioning, loft or swerve. Otherwise a really amazing bit of design and another tough challenge for sure in competitve play.

You should see the 13th tee shot on the C pins back when the random tree planting glitch was still around - just to prove we do test these things out prior to scheduling them in!

Otherwise a really amazing bit of design and another tough challenge for sure in competitve play. There are a couple of holes like this. #10 is one of them. There is another in the back 9 that has the same setup. Your options. Go for it, clip the tree end up in bunker. Play long and just flop back up for par. Play center green which will end up really rolling you away from the pin and a longer flop shot of up to 40-45 yards. Get uber lucky. I am not a fan of these holes in which really the best option is go long or left of the pin, aiming for the rough for a shorter flop shot. I wish the middle of the green was more level and we would just have a longer birdie putt.

Played with your ghost, you played a gorgeous chip on the Front 9 and a couple of equally bad ones on the back You're right to practice them though, this is exactly the kind of course where you sometimes need to use them

i have never really been good at chipping and normally use flops.
what i really struggle with is headwinds and tailwinds with my chips.
