Hey guys, I'm up here on exemption for the first time, just finished my rounds:
Round 1: 61 (-11) Round 2: 59 (-13) Round 3: 64 (-8) Round 4: 60 (-12)
For a -44 total.
Really enjoyed this course, some tricky pins. Had a bad run of pars during my third round, left myself too many long putts but hopefully its enough to get a nice place on the leaderboard.
Good luck to all who've yet to play their rounds, and congrats to T2THEB2, I followed your ball around the course, damn that's impressive!

I read the spoilers and someone found the first round that easy that he shot -18 under I played good shots in but could only manage +2 I will be dead traight with you here. I found the first round easy because i hit good shots, putted really well and made a couple of chips. Hb didnt just give me that score for nothing. If your telling me you hit good shots in that +2 round then your putting must be awful. Your attitude towards improving is really poor. You were promoted for a reason, the tour was below your level. Now you have to work for a result you dont like it. Alot of credit needs to go to the many promoted players who have accepted the challenge ahead and got on with it, which has rewarded them with some great results. Hats off to them. Your obviously one of those people who likes to play your game on the easy settings so you feel great about yourself. Maybe you would be better asking for a demotion if thats what you want instead of comin on here making everybody who is graftin to shoot low feel like they're doing something wrong. If u came accross in the right manner and asked alot of these people at the top for the odd tip, i am sure most would be willing to help a little. But the way you have gone about it wont get you anywhere.

Played for fun and to test my new method of putting (well reading the greens hehe) and shot
62-59-62-61 (-44)
I have never putted so consistently in my life for 4 rounds although i did miss a fair few but also made some i never used to make.

Never could quite get the hang of this course. In practice I think -12 or -13 was my record so I hopped in with low expectations. My first round was an uneventful -9 with about half a dozen putts and chips just stopping or breaking right at the hole leaving me 2inch putts. My highlight was an eagle on #1. Foraged through the next round and caught fire. Putts, dart throwing and just everything going in. -17 for that round. Third and fourth rounds I came back to Earth and managed -11 and -11. I had a wonderful chip in eagle and another holed out from 160ish. Sadly I just always seemed to be on the wrong side of the hole. Overall -48 isn't something I had expected. I shot a consistent -10 which is what I was expecting considering my practice rounds and then that -17 blew me away. No complaints tho. I'm very happy with the final score, but I'm happy to put this course behind me and moving on to next weeks Euro Masters. This course was a nice course, fair and challenging but I never could quite get a hang of it. Good job to the creator tho. Good luck all! I give up on replays now, every single time I save something like a hole in one or a long hole out, the replay shot is so different than what actually happens it is sad. HB really needs to get their sh%$ together....

Fair and challenging but you could never get the hang of it yet you shot -48? Crazy talk. It was a decent course. t was fair although I wouldn't say challenging and I hit -35. Has the world gone mad?

For me it is about the consistency, something I have been struggling with for a long time. Sure it is nice to post a -17, but I also shot a -9 in probably the second easiest round. I need to continue to work on putting together four solid rounds. Give me 4x14 any day over -9, -17, -11,-11

Started with a 60 (-12) yesterday. I'm fine with that, it was a solid round without any (big) mistakes.
Before I'm going to continue in a few hours, I'm curious what the firmness on the greens is on the other rounds. I saw that Rd2 is rainy, so I guess the greens are softer than Rd1? Do the settings for that course change in Rd3/Rd4?

Having shot -55 I am not going to come into a thread like this and complain about my total (as I remember how annoying I found it when I was stuck in the midfield) - the frustration comes from not being able to repeat your best, or close to it, over 4 rounds. The winner of this tournament will shoot 4 rounds in the 50's, something I've only ever done when the winning score was -75, and that's the difference between winning and not....

Just remember it is all relative. On some courses you can shoot consistent -10 x 4 and win. I keep going back to University Links. I shot a -8 on the final round and had the second best final round and in round 1 and 3 I was at -10 which was also second best for the field. The final round had some tricky pins but I didn't feel it was difficult and yet Brad shot a -1, Brionne -6 and Ian a -6 I think. More often winning is just being that one shot better (thank you albatross on #2 first round) and even more often, more luck than skill.

R1 this week made me realize something: lately, while I've been trying to add fancy sh%$ (sometimes wrong sh%$ XD) to my golf to get closer and closer to pins, I gradually lost focus on the "bigger picture"...and the result was a terrible 67 (-5) opening round, which I will be ashamed of for a looooong time. After that I kinda pulled my head off my ass and went back to basics. Gladly I started playing much better and gaining back a confidence that has been "volatile" to say the least in the last couple of weeks. So in R2 I carded an OK 62 (-10) and in R3 and R4 60 (-12) and 59 (-13). -40 for the tourney. Now, I may not be able to make the cut at -15 (and honestly I'll be totally fine with that - I deserve to be cut out after that R1), but after THE disaster I think I got back something of my game that I thought I had lost. Let's hope for the sake of my mental health I'm not full of BS on the matter

Let's hope I'm not full of BS on the matter It is good you identified your problem and concentrated on the bigger picture. Being close to the pin is great if you can consistently get it within 5 feet, but even better is if you can be on the right side of the hole to give yourself a higher percentage putt. Give me a 15 foot, uphill slight breaker any day over a 6 foot, downhill 5 inches massive breaking putt.
