I played this for the first time the other night and shot 7 over and my first thoughts were this is excatly what we need on the challenge circuit. We need to be pushed as golfers to improve and playing birdiefests each week does not always help. We need a mixture of courses and difficulty. The fact it is just the forth round makes it even better, adds to the excitement of the tour. No matter where we play or the conditions the best players will still top the leaderboards. What it does allow, is give us room to make errors, as the chances are, others will be making mistakes also. The biggest issue I have with easier courses is one mistake and all hope of exemption is gone. I saw no real issues with this course when I played it, the 7 over was all down to me not the course. My round was to see what the course was like, where I could push and where I should play safe. I should play better when the tour comes around and if I don't, I will be the one to blame. I for one welcome this to the challenge circuit. One of my favourite memories on tgctours was battling to par on Shawnee Creek back on the champion tour, it brought a sense of accomplishment far greater than any sub sixty round. We need the challenge, the excitement, the moans and groans. Enjoy it, learn from it.

My only question was the drastic change for the final set up. I don't know if it was me not expecting it(now I know what to expect) or the fact that everything culminated at once and I found it hard to adjust. Again..like you said..on the golfer...not the course. It's a tough trek...and I welcome the challenge.

I just put up a 7 under par 64 on the 4.01 set up(course record on PC) and it could have easily been a 60 had a few more putts fell..so..you can possibly disregard my earlier comments

And my point of posting the video was to show there was No drastic change in the settings from course to course firmness and speed. Course conditions change daily, even hourly. The GNCD only gives limited options to simulate conditions.
I did the best I could creating conditions from wet to dry, and keeping it fair and as challenging as I could. When a designer has no control over winds peed or prevailing wind direction, we are forced to create a course allowing for a wide range of unknown variables.
I tested this course abundantly and made it fair as possible under windy conditions. But, like most courses, with low winds , most short courses become birdie festivals.
Bottom line, you're not going to please everyone, so you got to please yourself.
I'm happy with the results.
I do feel one hole is a tad extreme. Only because I changed it from a par 5 to a par 4, and under high winds ... it makes par a great score.

When a designer has no control over winds peed I knew there was a reason I often felt pissed on after a round. There you have it.

Every ghost ball ive played with ends up in the same spots as me every round. Always off the green. Also the back 9 could be the craziest back 9 ive ever seen. Played with 3 different ghost balls last night. All 4 of us started the back 9 with 3 bogeys! 3 putts galore! Im not bashing your course. Im one players opinion on a huge tour.Others may like these settings. Us CC C-D players. just arent good enough to be competitive on these type greens. I tried landing super short but theres no way to really judge where your going to bounce too. It almost seems the area around the greeens are harder then the greens. HAHA I wanna throw darts!

Its a multi pin event, course plays different each day, you might have played the hardest day.

Your towel and free box of kleenex is in the mail ... lol You see, it's comments like these that grind my gears. Whether or not it's a joke, it comes across that you have a holier than thou mindset and you can't take constructive criticism on your work. Deflecting the opinions with tongue in cheek quips..actually makes you look non-receptive to hearing what others have to say about your designs.

I agree, like I said im one person in a huge pool of players. Im allowed to have an opinion on the courses. Its not a shot at you personally or even your design skills. I just dont like the way these type courses play. No need to be a dick about my opinion. When 3 ghost balls all end up in the same spot hole after hole, I think it shows im not the only one having trouble around the greens.

Damn. Don't get so frick'n butt hurt ... are you a student at Mizzou?
LOL
I will say this much, after playing around on the 4.01 course on PlayStation 4, there seems to be a little bit of difference in the firmness settings, as far as PC vs PlayStation 4.
Now, I am literally not the greatest player on PlayStation 4. Especially with playing the golf club, but I did notice a little more difficultly sticking it on the green in PlayStation 4.
But, even having said that, there's a swing difference in the PlayStation 4 vs. The PC.
I have little problem sticking it on the green on the PC most of the time. And there could be the reason, I have home court advantage. I made the course, I practice and played almost every green, multiple times.
However I won't go as far as changing the course becuase it still very playable, and it will make the last round of the tournament a true game changer. As for the differences between PlayStation 4 and the PC, that falls squarely on HB Studios.
Sorry is you were a tad offended by the "meant to be funny", lack of being politically correct remark ...
LOL
Oh, and I have been around here quite a while, and you are relative new comer ... I take constructive criticism quite well, and also on many occasions offer constructive advise in design creations, But crying about a course playing to par, too often, is a tad over the top.
To top it off, saying the greens are too fast/too firm ... when not the case, is also wrong assessment. This was a personal assessment made by yourself having trouble. The speeds and firmness is a subjective preference, and by no means, is this course as controversial as many of those I've play in TGCT.
However, you're entitled to an opinion. As I am to disagree with it.
Have a fun round in the tournament.

I don't own the TGC game for XB1 ... so I cannot tell you how it plays on that console. I can tell you the game plays differently on PS4 Vs. PC... using the same DS4 controller on both ... Just as a hint, you really need to play most greens short in front of the pin ... As a lot of green slope tricks I used on the last round, placingy pins where the slope runs Front to back ... making pin-seeking on the green more of a challenge. And again, on purpose. As it is a final round of a 4 day simulated event.
