You guys better get ready for my upcoming tourney pins! Not shown: Hole #3: Hole location on a 5 yd circle green (hardest firm setting, fastest green) surrounded by water. Oh, and you're 223 yds out. But at least the green is dead flat! The drop area is slightly easier at 195 yds away. Let's see you all chip that in! Hole #4: Pin literally underwater. Only way to sink this is to glitch the game in a very specific manner.

I am not a huge fan of this course, but it is a good change. And no matter what... it is the same for everyone. This thread however has made me think better of this course though...

When I first played the course I hated it, I withdrew from the PGA and registered for the Euro. I played it again, I wouldn't say I fell in love with it, but accepted what was in front of me, which pretty much is a second shot golf course. I withdrew from the Euro and re registered with the PGA I think everyone is making valid points (for the most part), and I rarely sit on the fence. I'm just glad the greens aren't hard and fast, otherwise imagine the commentary. Having holed out several times in Rd 1 and Rd 2, I can say this I haven't deliberately tried to miss the green, I have attempted to put my ball on the flatest part of the green. I have also missed more chip ins then I have made too. Every shot requires concentration, which is a great thing imo.

To be honest (and this is quite off-topic), I hope you re-registered before you played your tournament rounds (either on the Euro or the PGA).

Last time I checked, we were playing virtual golf, not real golf. If you don't like the course, then crossover. Maybe we should just do Little Brook Manor every week I'd still struggle for par...

I only take issue with one thing lately - cups being placed on these 20-30 degree tilted planes. That's a little much, more like a trick up than a true difficulty on the green. I understand going 10-15 degrees but I've seen some cups slanted really bad recently.

Those 30 degrees is more like 6-7deg... Still a lot and would not fly without the grid for sure.
30deg is some serious tilt.....

gsrpdf.lib.msu.edu/ticpdf.py?file=/2000s/2008/080721.pdfAccording to this article you can even have yellow around the hole but the slope has to be consistent for at least 8 feet around the hole. I don't advise yellow though, try and stick to green. 3 feet consistent slope around the hole if it's green. Best rule is can the ball stop within 2-3 feet of the hole.

Maybe TGCTours needs to define a set of rules regarding green slopes around the cup. We can't always go by real world rules and recommendations in a video game world.

That would be nice, but in the end I think it is more of a 'feel' thing. I would love the "approvers" to take slope by the hole into the equation as well as a lot of other things. I'm sure they do and in some cases if it is just a one off, they let it slide. Sadly we have had many courses that over a full tournament of 72 holes there were 5 or 6 per round that were highly questionable. Still, having one of these courses every 6-7 weeks where it is super challenging is fine by me. We can always jump to the other tour if we want and it keeps things interesting for those players that love this type of challenge.

I think it would be extremely easy for a reviewer or a designer to miss a huge sloping putt. If they get below or above the hole, the side slope would be not look to bad, if the same shot ended up a few feet right or left the slope would look severe.
Lots of times the green slope changes after publishing as well.
I would think as long as there were no yellow/red within 9/10 feet of the hole, all is good.

This is the job of the "Rangers" - no?
