So far I like the firmness & green speeds, but whoever made these greens should have read the USGA guidelines regarding slopes near the hole. I like like firm & fast but this fella doesn't have a clue how to level out the area around the pin, and that is just a cheap trick to suppress scores. I hope the web players obliterate this course, I managed a -8 on my 1st play, but that was in low winds, I could see people struggling in 8-12mph.
Overall I'd say I prefer this to The Red October course, if only because of the firmness. Hopefully that gives me more of a chance to compete since you can't dart the pins with proper math & sponge like greens.

Hey guys. As the designer of Oktoberfest GC, I'm really excited to see how you all do on it!

Hey guys. As the designer of Oktoberfest GC, I'm really excited to see how you all do on it! In general, I liked this course. The small greens and firmness were really tough (for me) to deal with. My first few times playing it felt fairly easy. But I've lost my way lately and made a mess of it. I probably saw views on this course nobody else will see And I didn't rake any of the traps I landed in. Sorry. I've never even tried to make a course so I really respect the effort you guys put in. I think some of the better players will score well here. There are certainly some opportunities with well placed shots.

This is a course my girlfriend Charlotte would like. Not that she plays on the tour, she actually doesn't play computer games at all.
The reason she will like this course is, my practice went that badly, rather than start my tour, I went and did some ironing.
I lost count how many times I had birdie putts and made bogey. This will be a struggle for me.
Good luck folks

Like the course. You guys forced me in to a practice round(only play 1 round per day so like to mix other courses with tournament rounds) with your tales of woe of this course. Played Friday pins in moderate winds. Had 2 bogies but finished 5 under. Yes conditions will be tougher but the course is playable and I look forward to grinding the cut score.

Not fun when it takes 4 strokes to make a 20 foot putt. The first 9 isn't bad but the back 9 might as well be part of the (Electronic Arts) Tiger Woods fantasy courses they used to make.

Ha ha it took me 5 putts to get down from about 12 feet on the 17th and I was happy with my first putt until I saw it slide by the edge and just roll and roll so I hope that cheers you up a little Overall there were a couple of dodgy pins but the course is really good and I enjoyed the challenge of it. I have tried to make a couple of courses and it is not easy, nothing but respect for the effort the guys put into these courses, nice job claybagel.

Good man Moe that's the stuff, I shouldn't have been in the bunker in the first place though as I hit what I thought was a good straight shot that veered left for some reason, I played it -1 for the final 3 rounds myself with 2 clutch pars and a birdie(from a chip in) so at least I learned but round 1 ended my tournament. Pity this game rewards you at times for missing greens and it's easier to chip in than to putt out.

Slightly annoying to witness.

Yeah that is the problem some people have copped on that it is better to miss the green and leave the chip rather than getting the green in regulation and making the putt and you end up looking a fool for trying to play the game properly, ha ha that noise of the chip in gets to you even more when you don't make your birdie or worse you 3 putt. I would love to see the chipping changed in this game, fair enough it's believable from the fringes but you can't chip out of heavy rough around the greens in real life and expect to hole out nearly every time, you would be lucky to get the club on the ball most times.

Yeah there is no chance of thinning or hitting your chip fat. Maybe the range should vary more (40-80%) from the heavy rough for chip shot or thin the cone drastically for chipping out of it.

Or be like me, who seems to always have chips in double digit cross winds, then you make 1 out of 10!

Yeah this would be way better it is just not penal enough to be in the rough around the green in the game. I noticed this week in the web tournament that a missed fairway landed you in the thick stuff and it was very hard to advance the ball more than 100 yards at times as the lie was so poor, they need to do something similar in the thick rough around the green and really penalise you or force you to flop which is at least realistic.
