I guess it's a gamble we took by playing early -- I had a feeling things would be messed up so I just got my rounds in before the patch went down. Ended up being the wrong decision but it's one I accept.

I highly doubt the patch effects anyone's standing in the Web finals money list to earn pro card. (Most that just play all tournaments will get top 150, if you make cut on all that actually get 150+ players you will almost be guaranteed top 150 in the end and a pro card).
That said while winds were generally lower they were much more dynamic and change by shot instead of round so wasn't that bad of advantage.
Now if someone on console who played pre-patch loses tournament by 2-3 strokes to a PC player I lend my condolences but nothing can be done about it.

Played my first 2 rounds with a 61 and then a 72 as the winds picked up in round 2. Noticed the incoming storm reeks some havoc for round 3 as some rain accompanies the wind. Weather conditions definitely raises the difficulty level this week. Sorry man but I gotta be the English teacher here. The word you were reaching for is "wreak". Reek just smells. Sorry. And it's "got to", not "gotta", Teacher

F*ck it! Turned on PS4 for last 2 rounds and guess what's updating?? Tournament out the window!! What's the wind in round 3 after the update? I'll be a tad unimpressed if it's down to 3mph Don't know if this matters but my round 3 wind stayed consistently high! Maybe because I'd hit my 1st tee shot and then exited from the last round? Anyway, started really well and then had a 6-7 run of bogeys! Scraped a dismal 72. Thankfully swing seems ok, putting too. Didn't need the chip!

Well my week went like this. -12 1st round, happy. -6 2nd round in 20 mph, felt better than my 1st round -6 3rd round in 20mph which was still very good. -9 last round in calmer condition I wasn't thrilled with. So -33 all up. I honestly feel this would have gone very close to winning in those conditions. then I wake up to the news that an update has come along and made the winds much lighter. My heart skips a beat, I go into shock and have struggled to function all day since.. Now I'll be lucky to finish top 20. Wow! So my plan from here is to go and feel sorry for myself a little more, maybe have a cry. Once the tears are gone (sometime next week) I will burst into hysterical laughter when I suddenly realise that I've allowed a computer game to get me so upset. I'll then slap myself in the face, tell myself to get a life and hopefully go on living happily.
Good luck in the light winds everyone. Grrrrrr!!

Swing seems far too easy now. Don't like it. Also, seems I've benefited from the wind update. Shot 61/60. How does the new wind work? Do we all still get the same winds even though it varies? Between 3-14mph first round probably averaging 10mph (N). 2nd round (S/SW) wind were lighter, probably between 3 and 9mph. I feel like I've cheated the system a bit. Why have they changed the wind again? Hope we all have the same wind post-update but I fail to see how if it's changing all the time.

You may have 10 mph on hole #6 and I have 4 mph but on #7 I may have 11 mph and you have 5 mph. That's more realistic to me than a consistent static wind.....as long as it averages out the same for everyone overall. I wasn't a fan of tourneys of 17-24 mph every round. TGC game exaggerates the effects of wind on a golf ball way too much for that. I'm more concerned about the swing being the same for all platforms.

How I see it is the wind now varies in strength much more but stays within a certain bracket keeping it similar for everyone. The people that played before the update had to deal with 20mph winds round 2 and 3. Fair to say I'm a little p#%ed but these things happen I guess.

I agree Wes, the winds were definitely too high on average before. I'm unsure these varying winds will be for the better though. Will we get calm days not going above 5mph, will we get windy links-y days not going below 12mph? Once all the dust settles we'll see.

I'd like to see a cap put on tournament rounds (except links themes) under 20 mph. Some courses have holes that play unfair or at least not as intended in winds 20+.

total grind the first two rounds for me... -5, -1
Finished -5 on the first round (after starting -4 through 4) but lost about 5-6 strokes on putts that lipped out or stopped on the edge. After reading the spoilers, I was concerned I needed to be around -8 on day 1 or better to stay ahead of the cut. Particularly with the 2nd round conditions.
The second round was night and day. I had a triple bogey and finished +4 at the turn and started making weekend plans, but I managed to it turn it up a notch on the back to finish -1 overall...
Hoping -6 is enough to make the cut... not looking for a high finish, just want to make the cut this week.

WEEK #36 Total Prize money paid out. $$ 1,039,951
WEEK #37 Total Prize money paid out. $$ 1,127,512
Almost 100,000 more in week 37 would explain the higher payouts for the lower half of the field but why ??
Still crunchin the numbers looking for a reason. ( things I do when bored ) sheeesh............
