With the halfway mark approaching let's look at the trends from the first 2 days play....
5 holes playing over par with a couple of surprises...
Firstly, hole 4 is not the hardest?? Hole 15 is taking honors at the moment, 15 is certainly playing harder with the stiff winds but maybe a few are biting off more than they can chew on the dogleg and finding trouble in their quest to shorten the approach shot in?
The other surprise to me is that hole 10 is playing so difficult being a shorter length par 4. The green is challenging and maybe a few also are leaving themselves above the hole rather than the smarter below the hole option. I'd expect to see this finish under par for the week tho.
No real surprises to se the 3 par 5s playing the easiest with all 3 being in reach for 2 shots thought the rounds. Is it always wise to go for it tho I wonder?
Hole 18 IMO is a great finishing hole and short par 4. Something about it just draws you in to playing for as close to the green/pin as possible... Is it the smartest play tho?? A devilishly tricky spinning flop from one of the traps or a more precise pitch from 50yds or so or even more if you lay back to the fat of the fairway...
A few other holes caught my eye to with hole 9 playing slightly under par.. I'm sure this will end up over par with the brutally tough Sunday pin to contend with, which reminds me, PS4 friends, take a look at my replays in my stats area for the right way to attack the Sunday pin from one of my earlier practice rounds.... That shot is a beauty. Booom!! Ha
Also hole 2 is playing unders thru 2 rounds, interested to see where that one ends up over the weekend rounds, I find it tricky most of the time with never really sure where the drive will come to rest and an on point approach shot required most of the time.
How could I not mention the par 3 5th either, playing totally different on the Friday and Saturday rounds, I wonder where this picturesque yet challenging hole will end up too. Well played so far guys!!! Bring on the weekend!!!
Good luck to all
