Best thing about this course - you can hit a shot that lands exactly where you want it to and end up miles away, but you can also hit a poor shot, get a lucky bounce and make an undeserved birdie - happenned to me several times. Proper Links experience in those winds. Great fun That sums it up pretty well. What an excellent course that is... fantastic job, Rod! Already finished my tournament yesterday, and this is how it turned out: Rd1: 68 (-3) Rd2: 63 (-8) Rd3: 64 (-7) Rd4: 68 (-3)Well... regarding those windy conditions throughout the whole event, I'm pretty pleased with my rounds. In Rd1 and Rd3 I made a few little mistakes, and the course (conditions) simply don't allow that. But the other two rounds I was not far away from my personal maximum. It seems like I'm starting a bit slow lately, but from the middle of a round I'm doing pretty well. I'm not so sure what -21 will make out in the end. I was T5 on the PS4-leaderboard when I finished... so I'm hoping for another Top20 (was T16 last week).

Just had to check in, because I had wind at 16 mph for the third round in a row, but I guess it was like that for all right?
Infact, now it is up @17 mph... tough conditions.

Was for me. I haven't played R4 yet... I think the wind might have been a bit lighter (just hit the tee shot on the first hole). Maybe 10? Could be wrong. But yeah, I was 15-17 for R1-R3. I seem to recall it hitting 18 a couple of times, but never for very long.

Love love love the course over all 4 days.
As for my tourney, another case of inconsistency. Had a solid opening round 64 that could've been a 62, but then pissed away any chance of a top 15 in rounds 3&4, and to a lesser extent round 2. Had 7 birdies in round 2 but mental errors cost me 3 shots to sit at -11 after 2. Got mad and started pressing in the final rounds and only managed -3 over the weekend. One of these days I may be able to put 4 rounds together. Only ever happened once for me and that was way back in Feburary. C'est la vie.
Curious to see how the machine known as Ian does this week. The golf gods ask him for permission before doing anything. Kudos again on a course well done Rod. Wish we played that level course every week.

Started off real good with 4 straight birdies and was at -5 through 8 holes. Didn't take enough off the 4 iron on the par 3 9th and just trickled over the back and down the bank leaving 18 yards. Was just going to do a flop past the hole and leave it 3-5 feet for tap in par, but the ball hit the flag and came back 10 feet with a nasty left to righter which I missed. Had a couple of easy looking pin high birdie attempts the next couple of holes, which I played too much break on, the second was on the short par 3 which showed slight right to left so I put the marker on the edge of the cup, but it went straight Ended up at -8 after chipping in on 18 for birdie.
My goal for the week is to try and score -8 in every round to get to -32 as I've seen what the scores so far on PS4 are and what Jacko on PC has shot, bit pissed that I should have made those putts and been at -10 or -11 for the first round, but oh well. Will play R2 in the morning and depending on how I do will play R3 or leave the last 2 until Saturday morning when it'll be clearer what score will be needed for at least a top 5.
Very enjoyable Rod even in the highish winds, no real gimmes, but nothing unfair.....a true test.

Ended up -24, couldnt get anything close in R2 and 3. Missed too many greens by misjudging the wind. Missed some easyish short putts in R4 too. Guessing it'll be good enough for a top 10, but will miss out on a top 5.

I finished up playing completely unofficially from the PGA. What a treat this course was. A superb links offering.
FWIW I scored:
R1: -8 (64) R2: -6 (66) R3: -6 (66) R4: -1 (71)
Total: -21
Good luck to all as you navigate onwards to the RtD!

Still 12 guys that didn't tee off yet (or submit any score), and the deadline just 4 hours ahead of us.
I really hope they submit their scores just in time, as a R2D-event shouldn't have any WD's, DNP's or anything of that kind.
