The game allows you to loft up as much as it does do it so I can't complain if people do it. I just personally can't be bothered with all the calculations needed to make it work.

Just had a quick peek at the PS4 & PC Leaderboards. All i will say is....I LOVE tournament winds So do I. What bothers me a bit lately is that it looks like that I've come to a point where I actually score better in high than in low/almost no wind. Many Rd1-scores still missing on the leaderboard. Very hard to say what the cut is going to be on Thursday...

Dont worry about that -15 first round of mine. Battery went on controller so didnt play next 3 until the day after. Wish i had of listened ian (i hate that guy being right). Round 2,3 and 4 starting having the 90odd% problem then started feeling sorry for myself and stopped taking as much time when it mattered. Round 2 -2, round 3 -3 and round 4 -3. Think i had around 10 bogeys over those rounds. -23 total disaster after the start. Loving the winds but playing in them like a wind waiter. Have to rip it up next week instead. Good luck all

You shittin' me? Tom Humphries shot -15 on that rock hard beast in Round 1! All I can say is "I'm not worthy!" I should have shot at least -15 in my first round. After 9 straight birdies I did my usual and missed an unmissable 5 footer(I miss way too many of those). That just took all the momentum away from me, although I did eagle the next hole but the rest of that nine was just not good enough and I finished -13. After missing that 5 footer I never really holed enough putts to contend, I either seemed to get the perfect line and leave it short or get the pace right and miss by whisker. Round two was a complete fiasco for me, everything went wrong. Rounds three and four were pretty solid, but I didn't get the most out of them. I'm sitting here scratching my head as to how I'm not posting about how I am sitting at -40 or better after playing relatively well for four rounds. I actually finished at -33, which will get me a top ten for sure. But like it has been for what seems like for ever, I'll have a high finish without a win. Well played again Ian, your consistency is incredible. Let me know what kind of putter that you are using, I'm in the market for one A great course for tour play, there was never a straightforward shot, so playing smart came into play a lot. Or in my case, not so much! Good luck to everyone yet to play. Remember to loft it up Bluey, he's using a long handle or belly putter, he will be buggered next season.

Disappointment all around after completing my 4 rounds. Couldn't follow up the opening 63 with anything better than a 67. So many long putts that, like Brad, had the right pace but just off on the line or vice versa. The couple lip outs I had sure didn't help either. Oh well now for the Race. Great shooting Ian.

Someone had stole my belly putter after round. Not one to accuse but ian had 2 putters in his bag on the putting green. Unless he has them every week with t2theb2 on his head cover. Round 2 3 and 4 fidnt have the pace from the day before. Left plenty online but inches to a foot short.

Are all the really low scores so far from people lofting up clubs so they go about 70% of their distance? On a lot of holes there was no way I could get the ball to hold near the pin with these firm greens but lofting up is not something I want to start doing as I won't enjoy playing the game that way. HB really need to fix this issue as it is pretty ridiculous that the game allows you to hit a 4i the distance of a 7i and get it to stop quicker. I agree completely, it's totally unrealistic. The bottom line is that if you want to compete on firm greens you're going to have to do some serious lofting to get anywhere near the pins. You should be able to hit an 8 iron and get it to stop within a reasonable distance even if the greens are very firm, but we can't so we've had to adapt so that a 3 iron becomes what the 8 iron should have been like in the first place. It's not ideal, but until it's changed I'll continue to loft it up excessively when absolutely necessary. Pretty much how I feel on the subject. Not something a like doing but if it's the only way to keep the ball on the green then i'm going to do it. It is unrealistic, but then so is hitting a high tariff flop shot from a tight fairway lie every time you're within 40 yards of the pin ps - drlowdon, the maths involved isn't all that difficult. In fact once you've done it for a week it becomes 2nd nature.

All joking about putters and complaints about firm/fast greens aside, putting in TGC is great. I had the chance to play Rory McIlroy Battleship Golf and on the very hardest settings putting was simplistic and easy. I'd hit the ball and it would be moving fast and then it would stop suddenly like it ran over a bunch of glue. What a terrible game. I went away very thankful for TGC. That doesn't mean that I wasn't swearing repeatedly when I couldn't make a putt and went only - 7 on the weekend after -14 on Thu/Fri.

Lofting eh? I'm going to try that in future!
-23 over the 4 rounds without lofting though. Hard work getting the balls close, but can't complain about the putting or anything else. The last round just got silly with the amount of times I was hitting the pin or spinning out from distance. It could have been so much lower than the 67 I finished with.

Sounds like a taylormade advert with all this lofting up talk. I shot -15 in round 1 and can't remember lofting up. Maybe once if i did. I think everybody is getting it wrong with how you think you shoot low. My opinion is that anywhere in 20ft on this course is a good shot. The putting is key this week. Everybody will be having 10-30 ft putts most of the time. The best putters this week will top the leaderboard
