After my dissapointing start in Rd1 with 68 (-4), I scored another 68 in Rd2.
Regarding the windy conditions, I'm happy with that score this time. If a few people are going to struggle in those winds, -8 might be enough for the cut.
Well, we'll see how it turns out! Anyway, after my Rd1-desaster I would say I didn't deserve it to make the cut honestly.

Tom Humphries has proven over and over again he is one of the best players on firm greens..
-15 first round.... Huh?
Question.. Is the wind the same for everyone? Or does that only happen on tournaments setup with the tour feature?

Three bogies and a double ruined my chances in round 4. Sharing 2nd place on the PS4 leaderboard currently.. so still looking good for a decent finish. I doubt it will be top 10.

You shittin' me? Tom Humphries shot -15 on that rock hard beast in Round 1! All I can say is "I'm not worthy!" I should have shot at least -15 in my first round. After 9 straight birdies I did my usual and missed an unmissable 5 footer(I miss way too many of those). That just took all the momentum away from me, although I did eagle the next hole but the rest of that nine was just not good enough and I finished -13. After missing that 5 footer I never really holed enough putts to contend, I either seemed to get the perfect line and leave it short or get the pace right and miss by whisker. Round two was a complete fiasco for me, everything went wrong. Rounds three and four were pretty solid, but I didn't get the most out of them. I'm sitting here scratching my head as to how I'm not posting about how I am sitting at -40 or better after playing relatively well for four rounds. I actually finished at -33, which will get me a top ten for sure. But like it has been for what seems like for ever, I'll have a high finish without a win. Well played again Ian, your consistency is incredible. Let me know what kind of putter that you are using, I'm in the market for one A great course for tour play, there was never a straightforward shot, so playing smart came into play a lot. Or in my case, not so much! Good luck to everyone yet to play. Remember to loft it up

Are all the really low scores so far from people lofting up clubs so they go about 70% of their distance? On a lot of holes there was no way I could get the ball to hold near the pin with these firm greens but lofting up is not something I want to start doing as I won't enjoy playing the game that way.
HB really need to fix this issue as it is pretty ridiculous that the game allows you to hit a 4i the distance of a 7i and get it to stop quicker.

My game is really falling apart lately.. -11 after 2 rounds...
Approach play still great... give myself a chance on nearly every hole, but the putting... missing 3 -5ft putts..
Missed 12 birdie putts within 7ft so far... That isn't gonna win any tournies...
Hopefully I make the cut, and turn it around in the last 2 rounds to make a top 20

Rounds of 64, 70, 64, 70 for a total of -20. Couldn't get anything close in those strong wind rounds, made a pigs ear of most of the par 5s and my putting wasn't on fire. Had one water ball from a 97% shot and missed the 7 foot bogey putt. Just cant convince myself to loft clubs up more than 1 box, always tell myself that if you raise it up too much you may as well go to the next club. Don't think I've ever seen the pros loft a 3 iron to simulate a 7 iron........except for Seve out of a bunker maybe? Guess that's why I'll be mid pack in the firm green setting events. Hoping -10 will make the cut after those R2 winds (didn't see a whole lot of low scores as I was playing on the PS4, except for Ian of course, glad he'll be in the Euro tour team next month).

Oh man! That 2nd round was AWESOME!!! 17 mph winds on those firm greens was super cool. I can't stand playing rounds where I have a chance of making birdies. At one point, I almost caught myself having fun, but had to remind myself, "Hey, this is a video game, people don't play this sh%$ for fun, you're supposed to be stressed out and frustrated." Good self-talk man.

The big issue is that lofting a club up actually makes it stop more quickly than going to the next club. On these firm greens in particular it provides those that do it with a huge advantage. Sitting there with a calculator working things out during a round would spoil any enjoyment for me though so, unless HB do something about it, I'll just have to accept that I'll never be near the top of the leaderboard.

The bottom line is that if you want to compete on firm greens you're going to have to do some serious lofting to get anywhere near the pins. You should be able to hit an 8 iron and get it to stop within a reasonable distance even if the greens are very firm, but we can't so we've had to adapt so that a 3 iron becomes what the 8 iron should have been like in the first place. It's not ideal, but until it's changed I'll continue to loft it up excessively when absolutely necessary.

Two things I first heard of this week. Ohw man, so much room for improvement .. ;-)
