Hello, I'm trying to gather some data on wind speeds and directions for tournaments/tours.
If you could post your tournament (and theme), wind speed and direction for each round, that'd be cool. For example:
pga-championship, links: R1: 7 S R2: 14 N R3: 12 NE R4: 11 NE
Thanks!
PS: I only need 1 person per tour (as wind fix means winds should be the same).

I'm not sure the wind fix locks in wind direction. I played in this weeks Web tourney, and on many of the holes with a 12-14mph headwind, one of the ghosts was driving 40-50yds past me and the other 2 ghosts. On holes where myself and the other 2 ghosts had tailwinds, the 3rd ghost would land well short of us. This happened for 2 out of the 4 rounds. This leads me to believe there is still quite a bit of variance in wind direction.

Rounds 1,2 and 4 were the same for me at the pga but round 3 I had about 15-19 mph

I didn't find a 40 yard difference, but there were multiple times with 20-25 yards between myself and the ghost balls. Wasn't all the time, but a handful of holes. Figure that's due to direction being just slightly different. With 24mph winds a slight change in direction would do a lot to the ball!

Any chance you are viewing ghosts that just played the course, and not the tournament? Just pulling a recent ghost doesn't automatically mean it was shot in a tournament round... could easily have been someone doing a Play Round practice round.

Just pulling a recent ghost doesn't automatically mean it was shot in a tournament round... could easily have been someone doing a Play Round practice round. In my case I was certain; it was using the ghost balls of other players in the specific tour (in this case, Web.com). most of the time we'd end up in a bunch in the fairway; othertimes there would be a 20-30 yard gap. It's possible (I guess?) that someone would use 3W instead of Driver, but that seemed unlikely. Either way I did notice myself shooting ahead of all other ghost balls or vice versa a few times.

There is slight direction variance right? So if someone gets a strong wind at 8 o'clock and fights it with a fade, while another gets a 930 wind and rides it, I can see 30 yard discrepancies.

You are correct; and wind itself can vary by perhaps 1-2 mph, which can bring into effect more yardage difference as well.

For example: ... I guess we are talking about wind direction on Tee #1, right? Yes please, they shouldn't really change much throughout the round. I just want to get an idea of a) how much the wind changes between rounds; b) the typical wind speed/direction for each theme. Many people have said that the wind speeds are too high, I would like some data to prove/disprove it.

Bumping this for the new week: please post wind speed and direction on first tee for each round. Thanks.
