I know people think ball squirt is a myth, but mine seemed to be worse and very obvious too on this course. Had some flat lies, where I hit the line, and it jumped off 15degrees to one side. Or I had side hill lies where the ball came off the wrong direction. Probably very subtle lie changes right where the ball sits that u can't see

You may not see the slope, but it's there. One of the tournaments last week I played in had a couple of par 3's where the ball would consistently go to the left with a straight shot. I couldn't see a slope where I was hitting, but it would always go left the same amount every shot.

I have a reason for this which i"ll reveal after the poll. Vote now: tgctours.proboards.com/thread/3999/ball-squirt-question

I had to play my rounds early on Saturday because I didn't think I'd have much time this week, which I didn't... I'm just now posting my scores 4 days later lol. Hell of a week. Anyways...
After having won the qualifier at Swindon I had high hopes playing in this Open but I really let myself down. Finished round 1 at -2, which wasn't too bad but I wasn't thrilled over it either. Had shot much better in practice rounds.
Round 2 it just all went to hell in a hand-basket. I shanked my drive on I think #2 which ended up on a near vertical side hill in the rough, stupid as I am I thought I would be able to hit it out from there, looked like a a clear enough view at least. But nope, 3 hacks later the ball had moved all of about a foot lol. Finally gave up and took an unplayable lie and dropped about 100 yards back. I think I ended up with a 9, great way to start day 2 which was supposed to be the easiest day. Everything possible from that point forward just went wrong. I got back close to even, hit an approach shot on one of the par 4's that really should have gone in for eagle, literally rolled right over the hole. Oh well, easy tap in 2 foot birdie right? Nope. Apparently my guy was trying to putt with Thor's Hammer all round. I reached one of the par 5's in 2 and then proceeded to 4 putt my way to a bogey. I've never smashed so many 3-5 footers straight over the hole as I did throughout those first 2 rounds. It was a joke. Ended round 2 at +1. That's right, over par on the easiest day of the tourney. I had gone as low as -10/11 in practice rounds and now I'll probably be the only idiot over par for the day 2 course lol. To be honest, I really don't feel like I deserved that score, I felt like I played a lot better than that just had a lot of weird things happen.
Knowing I wouldn't make the cut, screwed around on 3rd and 4th rounds anyways. Finished at -5 overall. The end. Time for a beer or 5.

Looks like I should be making the cut on -11 after 2 rounds, which was my aim at the start. Not quite the fairy tale underdog story I hoped for after round 1 though.
Round 1 was 0-6mph on the firm settings. Round 2 was 12-17mph on the soft. Luckily it was that way around.
A lot of scrambling around to make pars but I got there. I'll try and enjoy rounds 3 & 4.

I'm thinking -8 Will be the cut which sucks for me since I'm at -7. I shot 4 under on the hard day then I choked on day 2 with a 3 under. Same thing that happened to me at the masters. Guess I can't handle the pressure of the majors

Played rounds 1 & 2 on Sunday, shot 65 - 60, 15 under. Downhill from there....always been a left sticker on XB1, but, after the update was forced to play right stick. Couldn't get the feel for right stick and went 68 - 73, and finished 14 under. The July TGC update ruined any chances of a top 10 finish. Great course that played tough, but, fair.

One of the par 3 tees in last weeks tourney was consistent the same number of degrees to the left, so I started aiming a little to the right of the tee to compensate. I played that hole probably 10 times with the same result

However please piss your ball squirt rubbish off to the appropriate thread.
Anyway despite saying I wouldn't play without my leftstick, I did, and shot a 64 on what was the easiest day for scoring, putting was unnatural couldn't get a proper feel for distance control, missed more fairways than normal and had a few 95% shots, this all added up to 4 red numbers appearing on the card and a couple of birdie chances going astray.
All in all i think if had the use of the leftstick, I would have been at least 5 shots better, such is life.....
