71-75
I think I can avoid playing the last 2 rounds. I only had a quick practice as I had zero time to do so, so learned nothing and got punished accordingly.

72-68-73-70
I thought my game was coming back over the last week in practice on several courses, but this weekend seen me crumble yet again. Had to get my rounds in yesterday as have become unexpectedly busy throughout this week. Was hoping for another couple of rounds of practice as I felt I was getting a handle on the course.
Some of my approach shots seemed to be good during ball flight then hit a bump in the fairway/rough and my ball shot away in a different direction, but that's golf. Couldn't dial in the winds I was facing either, finding myself hitting short or too long depending on if I had a face or tail wind. Was playing in winds from as low as 3mph to 17mph over my 4 rounds.
I do not expect my first 2 round scores to make the cut this week although a -2 seen me through the cut last week.

63-65-65-64 = -27 total
Winds got progressively heavier throughout my rounds. Played all 4 in a row in about 2.5 hours real time.
Was looking to go bogey free for the tournament, but had two bogeys because of missed fairways by a couple yards. Just can't do that on this golf course. Too many 15-25 foot putts that seemed close, but didn't drop. Did not play the par 5s well at all, it was pretty pathetic in reality. 10th hole my PW got caught in the tree. Should've hit to the adjacent hole fairway like I did in practice rounds.
Overall, quite a disappointing performance by me. I really took my time to focus on the cover yardages for the front rough/fringe line. Probably not enough for a top 10 even.

Very good start with -6 and -9 after two rounds. Was very happy with -15 but then the usual happened and i shot -4 in third round and +3 in the last.
The last round was me in "don't give a crap mode" as i seemed to get every single bit of bad luck out there.
Total: -16

Glad it's over for me. I just don't like firm golf courses.
Rd 1 started off with 3 bogeys, then struggle the rest of the round to finish even par. Rd 2 a little better, made a few birdies to shot 6 under. I may miss my first cut of the season, not sure if 6 under makes the cut. Shot 4 & 5 under the final 2 rds. 15 under total.

A lot of people between 4 and 6 under so my guess would be that the cut will fall somewhere between those numbers.

IMO that will be a cert top 10, that score hazzard shot was a mockerey of this golf course and i believe your -27 will be tough to beat, 64 on day 4 will bump u up a few spots im sure.

After practicing round one with scores of -8, -9, -8 I ventured out in 4-8mphs with high hopes only to bogey 4 of the first 6 holes. Being away for a month really hasn't helped my putting and I struggled to +3 after 9. With another bogey on 10, I played the rest of the round catching up finally with a couple of chip ins to get to even par after 17. Hit a great shot into 18 and made a good putt to end with an eagle and -2. Still very disappointing after my previous rounds.
Practiced round two in winds a little higher and managed a -9, -7 and -12. Played my round and while I was hitting the balls close, I just struggled to convert 6 foot putts for some reason. I did nearly ace #4 and #17 and had four chip ins, 3 for birdie and one to save par. I eagled 18 for the second time and managed a respectable -9 on a round that should have been -12 or better. Still I have to be very happy after the long absence and horrible first round.
Sitting at -11 after two and very happy that I will make the cut. That was my goal this tourney.

61,64,63,65 for a -31 finish.
I played a few of the practice tours that were setup, thanks to Brighttail and crazycanuck for that. I never managed to go that low in those so I have to be happy with my score.
Round 1 was pretty much flawless golf in blustery, changeable winds 7-11mph.
Round 2 was a strange round, it should be the easiest of the four but I just don't play it well at all. I don't think that I adjust well to the softer conditions? Winds were very similar, but I just couldn't get it going. I started with a bogey from the ideal spot in the middle of the fairway, next hole I holed my second shot for eagle then holed my trap shot on 3 to go -3 through 3. i just seemed to stall after that and finished my round at -7, pretty disappointing.
Round three I played very well but missed two 5 foot putts, so could have had a really nice round if those had dropped. Happy with -8 though.
The last round was one of those, the winds were at there lowest of the week 3-9 mph. I started poorly but made a couple of clutch par saving putts on 1 and 2. I then made 4 birdies on the spin, so I started thinking it could be a good round. Unfortunately I parred the next nine holes, missing some good chances and making some bad errors of judgement regarding shot selection. I was hoping for a low last round but it just didn't happen.
Over all I was very happy to shoot -31 on such a tough course, but with a bit more care and bravery when needed, I could have had a shot of winning this.
A real shame that the wind situation was changed just before this major championship. It is hard to tell how good your scores are compared to others when we are all playing in different conditions. Strength of wind is not too much of an issue as long as it isn't over about 12mph. But direction is key to many of these holes. If it isn't in a helpful direction some of these holes are so difficult to play, just finding fairways can be a nightmare with unhelpful winds.
Hopefully it might be good enough to get a top 5 finish?
A fantastic course that really tests everything, especially patience. Good luck to those yet to play.

So, the Wind-fix is gone for this tournament? I had 11-18 mph on my first round, and scored 71, and have to say that was ok. It seems its always tailwind on the holes you dont need it. Headwind on the long holes you dont need it. And side-Wind all the time... !"#¤%&¤#¤#/%¤
Brighttail.. You gotta show me a Picture of that bloody finger of Yours, im getting bored of that excuse now.

63 -63 (-16 thru 2 rounds)
Round 1 was played in 8-12 mph winds. Played much better than I had in practice rounds, and was pleased with the score. On hole 13, missed a 2 foot birdie putt that hit the back of cup and jumped out....looked like a glitch, but, oh well, that's golf. Should've been 9 or 10 under, but like all golfers, we always think we leave a few shots on the course.
Round 2 was played in 4-8 mph winds, and if I could only putt...missed 3 puts inside 8 feet. Had one putt from 4 feet, and the grid showed no break, however, it slipped to the left and lipped out.
Memo to self, take your time on these greens and look at the grid on both sides of the hole.
Overall, very pleased with the results thru round 2.

I was starting my first Major yesterday with the strategy to play conservative in Rd1 on this challenging course.
The game plan was generally okay, as my FiR- & GiR-percentage was fine. I was hoping a few (longer) putts would drop to finish somewhere between -2 and -4, but unfortunately they didn't. Had quiet a few putts that didn't go into the hole by inches, which was frustrating, as my putting generally was better than in many tournaments before. Two bad strokes on #10 and #11 left me with bogeys, which I could only correct with two birdies to finish Rd1 with a 71 (E).
I think I'll go "All-in" in Rd2... not much to lose with a predicted cut around -6 or so.

First two rounds, I struggled mightily. Had some problems with the putter which is not good on a course like this.
68, 65 for -9.
I knew this was going to put me behind, and I knew I would need to finish out with a couple -10 rounds at least to get back in contention. So I went out to the putting green until dark to work on the stroke.
Round 3....59. Best overall round of my career. Made the long putts and stuck some approaches. The game was coming back around.
Round 4 saw me miss a few putts. I cooled off from the perfect 3rd round for a disappointing 66
-26 total. Wish I didn't have the putting problems in the first two rounds. There goes my chance at the grand slam lol
