First off, apologies for the late start to the weekly thread. Had a bug going around my house this weekend that slowly crept from my toddlers to the adults and knocked each of us out for 24 hours. Finally recovered today and was back to work/normal schedule. Week 34 is at Escondite by jcollick . A designer who has been around long enough now (and even puts in his time as a ranger) that we shouldn't be surprised anymore when he produces a quality tournament course like this one. Loved the pasatiempo setting and saw this as a fun run for elite so of course I threw it on the schedule without hesitation. Good luck everyone! Edit: cut line of -23?! you bunch of... well... bunch of somethings. jeez. and moving 5 shots worse than that gets you a demo mark. 5 shots better than that and you are only tied for 49th. From the designer: Inspired by Pasatiempo, Escondite (“Hiding Place”) is my entry into this years World Cup of Design. The course isn’t difficult by any means and wasn’t really designed with that in mind as there are tons of feeder slopes and large fairways all across the course. *Warning* If you’re all about ground game, I gotta warn you in advance, there’s not tons of it to be found out here. A first for one of my courses, Escondite features a manipulated set of tees which hopefully will help to provide more variety and some cool angles on the par 3’s.

Yep..3 eagles and 3 birdies on the front 9 in the second round following a great first round set up a fantastic week for me. Shot 57, 58, 62 and 59 for a -52 total. I think that's the first time I've gone lower than -50 in a tournament on this tour.

So I wasn't expecting much this week, what with recovering from the rona that was tested on Friday (only a cough remaining, thank goodness). My game has also shifted from being pretty steady to what I could state as "I don't quite know what's going to happen next". -12 first round. -8 front nine with 2 eagles on there. One was putted in from 4 feet if I recall correctly from yesterday. Sure, "only" being -4 in the back nine after such a good start is disappointing a little bit but I could be happy with the overall round. Round 2 had a -6 front nine with an eagle on 9, and I'm looking like I could fight to make my second cut. What happened in the back nine I don't know, I could maybe describe it as "Bambi on ice". Trying to hold steady while I'm slipping around aimlessly for whatever reasons. One birdie, one bogey for flat even back nine. Has someone slapped a choking hazard sticker on me yet? So I survived last week demo mark free when after the cut deadline I was projected to get one. This week I probably won't get as lucky, my luck is in the fact that I might get just one. Although, I would no longer be surprised if that ended up as two somehow. I like the course this week, the back nine really didn't like me. Sad face. New try next week, now I've got some work to do. And oh boy, after sneaking a look at the weather report, my expectations of next week are looking... turbulent, let's just say. Cheers, and good luck.
