Just a suggestion, but maybe as the designer of the course, you could hold off on commenting on methods of playing the holes for the active ongoing tournament, until after said tournament? For nothing else then out of respect for the people that did their homework and played your course a few times to try to figure it out on their own? Yeah you're right. ... I was tired of hearing the bad mouthing of 17. .. I spent a lot of time making that hole playable. .. even if you went long off the back. .. I test play the hell out of my later creations. I apologize

Actually. .. you guys are on the pro tour. .. nobody should need tips. .. I take those tidbits as common sense. .. but ... that is the key word. .. lol ..
I didn't spill the beans on the other 16 holes. ..

I apologize Who is badmouthing it? Other than me, all I've seen is people talking about how they got burned by 17. I personally have a problem with the design, that's all. But I didn't carve it up by any means.

my lack of wordsmithing may have been taken the wrong way ... but more or less being a dawg protecting his bone ... LOL Anyone that shot like a -15 on it's easier sister course ... shouldn't had any issue with this course ... very minor differences between the two ... this one just hat a tree trimming, some sand imported, a few rakes and signs removed ... and even the greens were slowed down .... LOL I care little about is anyone hates the design of 17. I made it fair and playable. just not an easy birdie hole if you missed the green going for the pin and you relied on common core math, instead of old-school math ... wonder why I pulled out my Oly club course ... I wasn't going to want to hear the belly-aching that was going to come with it. Off-cambered narrowing fairways and little to no light rough, fast greens that have side hill, back to front, and front to back slopes, even a few with two teirs, let alone the greens were getting size to the real course greens ... with the actual 2012 pin placement ... especially, when I have more than 220+ hours into it ... and still a ton of work, I only had around 200 in the Marina ... as it too, was totally scratch built from the ground up. and no AUTO-GEN anything except the normal grass/bush and unwanted rocks. LOL ... no ... I am not pissed, or mad ... LOL ... just tired... Of a lot of things ... not directed towards you bent ...

Designer's note: The 17th hole.I hear lots of complaints on not being able to get up out of the cliff in front of the green. You cannot. I managed an epic par save on this 17th hole, came up short and pulled a miracle flop and sunk my putt. Was amazed with myself after staring at least a double! Don't know what all the fuss is about, I birdied this hole in the 2nd round. If I recall it wasn't even that crazy of a putt.

Finished my rounds yesterday... and I'm not really happy with the result. R1: 67 (-5) R2: 65 (-7) R3: 66 (-6) R4: 67 (-5)
Total: 265 strokes (-23) Played quiet solid and consistent, but wasn't able to go really low. Luckily I managed to play a decent second round which will hopefully help to make the cut at least (looking good at the moment). Anything else was quiet frustrating, as I had the chances to go lower... just didn't use them.

One guy @ -8 for Round 1 yet to post his 2nd round.
20 guys yet to post a score. If only a handful of them play well it's bye bye 8 unders.
9s look relatively safe.
10s (where i am) almost a mortal lock

I was worried about -11 making it after seeing some of the early scores. I see now that will easily be in.

Completely disagree, watch the memorial tournament were jack Nicklaus will give us the full run down on his design and it's the same for any tournament when the designer is in the commentating box. Drama.

auldy Nope, no drama. Just thought it was inappropriate. And after the fact DDawg seemed to agree... so... there's that.

It's the guy at -6 that could do it.
