Ouarzazate (pron: oo-wah-za-zat) is my entry into the National Treasure contest, representing Morocco. I was delighted with the draw as I really wanted this contest to force me to do something different and it was a lot of fun studying the landscapes and various options. In the end, I decided to set the course in the High Atlas mountains, by the Draa river valley, which features palms, some vibrant orange colours, mountains and dense jungle all in one gorgeous environment. To fit this dry, arid environment, I went with Sandbelt style bunkers, cutting into greens and fairways to make accuracy even more paramount. It's not a long course, but should challenge a wide variety of shots and play differently every time, particularly given there are four tee sets for potential tour usage. For a one-off round, play the black tees, but do try the others (bar red) to see different angles and distances on most holes. I hope you enjoy your rounds!

Too hard to pronounce. Drove past the sign and went to an Algerian course lol

Great looking track and looking forward to some wonderful rounds here. Going to get them in before the scorcher heat hits in late June-August! For those who love history and geography, here is a link to a page to learn about the real location this fictional course is set in. wikitravel.org/en/Ouarzazate

Congrats Ben. Looked like a really fun country to get and the planting and the atmosphere here definitely hit the mark. Shame you didn't end up using your city (at least I didn't see it?) as I thought that was looking really good after it was sculpted. My favourite holes were 3, 8, 10 & 18 and I'll be stealing some of those holes ideas in the future. Well done as always.

Typical Ben course, kicked my rear end again. Tough greens and with my short game woes it makes them that much more tough but a great course as you would expect. You keep setting the bar higher Sir, well done and GL in the contest.

Did you ask Reebdoog to name your course?

Masterclass in subtlety per usual - fun to see you follow up your most rugged, adventurous, and rugged course with a flattish but equally riveting track. That’s the kind of variety that separates the men from the boys. Keep rolling.

Great course with a great mix of holes.. some great strategy holes, was so tempting to hit driver on a lot of holes but ended up running out of fairway into the rough or them hellish bunkers. Particularly liked the sloping of your fairways.. very subtle but could still penalise you. Environment was great everything looked so natural. Nice one

Great track as usual. Loved the environment and the subtle strategy needed. Definitely put a premium on hitting to the right spots and using all the shots available. Greens were equally as subtle but allowed for the ground game to run the ball in places (as expected from your designs). Loved watching this come together and will be back to try different pins and tees.

As expected another stunner and great follow up to your winner. I’m from Louisiana and have to ask is your course name part Cajun? “ Ouarzazate (pron: oo-wah-za-zat) ” or was it a local kid speaking for the first time and asked “what is that?”. LOL loved the planting and your style of Bunkering and waste areas. Always good to pick up on something to take and apply in future designs!

Enjoyed every shot. You absolutely crushed this environment. Kinda have to expect this caliber from you, but it's still nice to experience a new B101, even if I'm competing in the same contest. Well done bro!
