Bosduinen
-------
Hello everyone, and welcome to Bosduinen! My entry (as an alternate) into the TGC Tours National Treasure Design Contest!
(Now tour worthy at TGC Tours!)
Bosduinen is a brand-new golf course set within the Texel National Park in the Netherlands, and it plays through the sandy dunes, pine trees and rugged terrain. You will find a nice mix of challenging par fours, tricky par threes and risk-reward par fives. The bunkers are deep, as they should be, and the greens play tricky and fast with a wide variety of slopes and hole locations. While there aren't any ocean views on the main property, the wide panoramas over the plot, the windmill that you see early on in the round and the deep, expansive waste bunkers make up for it. Par 72, 7,426 yards from the back tees - I hope everyone enjoys their rounds! All feedback welcome - this is my first ever 18 hole publish
---
Right, now that I've got the course description ready, I have a few people to thank:
- firstly, VctryLnSprts and Crazycanuck1985 for running such a cool contest and allowing rookies like myself a chance to compete for a spot in the main field.
- secondly, thanks to all the guys with tutorial videos on Youtube that really helped me to build a foundation for my course design and progression. Guys like b101 , Crazycanuck1985 , Violinguy69 , reebdoog , mattf27 and more - really appreciate your videos!
- next, thanks to early1981 , jimgem and Avakrac for the awesome playthrus of courses on Youtube - tee times reserved for you three if you want one
- thanks to all the Twitch streamers who provide great times for members of the community - in particular, WhatAboutAmeobi , b101 and mattyfromcanada who gave me some fantastic feedback on my Design League course.
- thanks to my Nintendo Switch for not stopping me from putting out a course and allowing me to use up 85.5% meter to build this thing. As far as I'm aware, this is the first ever course entered into a big TGC Tours design contest designed on a Switch.
- thanks to all the reviewers, rangers, schedulers, mods, designers and other awesome members of the community who keep this site going strong!
- last but not least, big thanks to mctrees02 who took these awesome pictures of the course - much appreciated!
---
Conditions:
fairways - Please set to firm or very firm, because of the stupid Highlands theme glitch defaulting them to soft. The course won't play how it's meant to otherwise.
greens - firm by default
green speeds - 165, but can easily be played at 187
winds - south or south east, medium to high recommended
tees - play the back tees (7,426 yards)
par - 72
signature hole - hole 10 (par four, 415 yards)
---
Enjoy the course, all feedback welcome! I'll leave you with some more pictures
