Hi
I recently had a course approved on TGCTours which also got a "Tour Worthy" rating. I did however realise, following an excellent video from Ben, that my course was playing with green speeds below the optimum rate for selection to the schedule.
So, I have amended my course now and got it to the required speed levels.
As I have to republish it, How do I relist it with the correct speeds in the Database, without resubmitting for approval? I now need to republish, but naming is an obvious issue, as is it has a corresponding name in the database. I was going to rename it as Santa Martin (Tour), but wasn't sure I wanted to make any changes yet (in case it needs any other Tour level tweaks).
So, question is : How do I go about updating an approved course for Tour readiness?
These are the parameters for green speeds that I am basing this on (My take on Ben's video, feel free to modify if I have misread it)
Green Speed Parameters for Tour Designer build levels = approx 8.1 & 8.5
Optimum : 177ft
Default speeds for tour: 144ft, 163ft, 187ft
Publish at between: 144 -187 Test on maximum: 177
Links adjustments : Shouldn't really be a 187ft green, if highly contoured...optimum ideally set up for around 163ft
Never publish below 150ft
Hope that all makes sense

Course settings can be adjusted manually when anyone plays it. So you don't need to republish your course, as the schedulers and rangers for TGCT will test various settings, and can then manually set things like green speed when adding the course to the schedule.

No need to republish the course. A good habit to get into moving forward is to sculpt and play test your greens at 187/8.5, max speed. You can dial them back from there for the default settings, but if you have every single pin in a legal position or at least barely legal position at 187 it gives the scheduler the ability to crank up the greens for a tougher round on tour. Hope this helps.

Yeah I recently ran into the same thing, as I like bolder greens with slower speeds personally. My last few tour approved courses are set a bit lower, but I am making new ones at max speed to ensure playability and then bringing them down a little
