Located in North Eastern British Columbia, nuzzled into the Rocky Mountains lies Keyhole Lake Golf Club. This Par 71 layout measures 7,157 yards from the tips with four sets of tees, two for members and two intended for tournament play. Navigate your way through elevation changes and use the contours of the greens to your advantage. A premium is placed on the approach shots as good shots will be rewarded and wayward shots make par a more difficult achievement. Water is in play on several holes so be careful where you miss and enjoy the views of the rugged wilderness and picturesque Keyhole Lake.

If anybody decides to play my course, I am open to any comments, critiques, or advice. If I did something right, let me know. If I did something wrong or something is just plain awful in your opinion, let me know. I'll be making adjustments for my next project (already in the works). Thanks!

I'm proud to say that Keyhole Lake Golf Club has been approved by TGC Tours. I fully didn't expect it to be Tour Worthy as it was my first course. If anybody would like to give it a play and provide feedback, I'll be happy to take whatever constructive criticism and use it to improve my skills. Thanks.

Just gave this one a play.
Overall, I think its really good especially for a first course.
I do think the planting could have been a little better (in general, it just seemed kind of lacking). For example, on hole 7, could have done some more around the edge of that pond. That being said, I think 15 was really well done with the planting (but see below).
The hole layouts were generally pretty good, beit unspectacular (which is not necessarily a bad thing - a lot of the times simpler is better, IMO). But, the fairway on 8 seems awfully narrow. I think you were trying to make it not driveable, but seems a little much. I really like hole 12. 15 landing area seems a tad narrow.
I also thought the difficulty level was really good. I shot like -4, normally ill shoot -8 if not better for most courses, especially new designers like myself. I tend to tear up my own courses and struggle to make them sufficiently difficult.
Nice job man, I enjoyed this course. I think you’re gonna be pretty good at this with some more practice.

Some of the criticisms you gave are the same that I was giving myself. I came up with a planting scheme and I put so much work into it. Then I decided that it could have been better but I was too far in and committed to change it. My fairways on this course in general could have been improved by widening. My routing was very tight though and like before, I was too far into it when I clued in. I could have (and should have) changed up #8. That one could have easily been remedied. Oh, well. I'm glad you enjoyed it overall.

Enjoyed my round here, good first attempt. The course looks really good, but wish there was more variety and strategy. Wider fairways and doglegs are two very good things. This course has a lot of straight holes. Congrats on getting it handicapped. A lot of potential here.
