Alby on 6 at Ranch. 5 absolute stunners, stood on every opening tee thinking it couldn’t get better than the ones I had played so far only to be proven wrong.

This online golfing resort had me feeling strange in strange places... in a very very good way mind you! As a relative newbie to this game (but a longtime lover of golf and all things course design) I am completely blown away by the talented designers and full of gratitude for the gifts they bring! If I had the patience myself I'd have a crack but sadly I do not have the patience. Maybe one day! Have a great PGA 2K21 weekend everybody

"Whiskey Dunes - Tour" is now published. King Trayys put in a ton of work to bring in some grandstands and crowds after we found out Dunes would be hosting week one of Q-school. Good luck out there chasing your tour card.

This project released at a hard time for me personally (still ongoing) and when I was trying to keep my head above water keeping up with some other TGCT duties & getting ready for Season 7, but I’m excited to finally have a chance to dig into these courses now. I really failed to dedicate the proper time to wrapping my brain around how good this project is, but after the many rounds at the Dunes in preparing for the Q-Event and then playing 4 rounds there competitively, I’m looking forward to playing them consecutively soon. I have to admit, I have already played the Decanter, but you all know my love of short courses and putting courses, so I had to try that one immediately. I’m proud to report I shot E par! That thing is a legit challenge. I’d love to know more about the design process on this plot, but I’d understand if that’s something the designers would want to keep private. And by the way, I don’t think there’s ever been a course preview video that good in the TGCT world before. I’ve shared that a few times from the TGCTours Twitter account in the hopes that it gets a lot of views. That is video game golf cinema gold, and the ending with the multiple swing impacts is hype! Great production! I’ll report back after I play the courses all together.

I have to admit, I have already played the Decanter, but you all know my love of short courses and putting courses, so I had to try that one immediately. I’m proud to report I shot E par! That thing is a legit challenge. Well, the only proper playtesting that back nine got was Gdog playing through twice and telling the others 'Ben doesn't get mini golf', so I'm glad it holds up! It doesn't hold a candle to proper putting courses, but it felt like a fun thing to add in. As for the rest of the project, no secrets here: - Giser came up with an idea of doing something based on Bandon or Streamsong with three courses on one plot. I drew out a rough routing that formed the basis of Run, Dunes and Trails. Originally due to be me, JC and Giser in that order. Wes badly wanted in but still wouldn't buy a PC. Still, I squeezed one more loop of 18 in on the area that would become Ranch and originally it actually went round by the 10th of Run and all the way up that coastline. - I think I had 18 holes mapped out on Run within about a week, JC didn't open the file for about two months and Giser chipped away at Trails. Petty joined in and rerouted the entirety of Ranch (far better than I had done). Think I redid part of Run at that point, Wes finally got a PC and divvied up Dunes with JC and Giser continued plodding along nicely. All of this was done constantly uploading the file to Discord and chatting through ideas. - Eventually (in about mid August), we had all holes sculpted and playable. About three days after 2K released, Skinnie built a crazy clubhouse, we planted the areas of the course that would be seen from other plots and then copied the file four ways. Each of us finished up our own planting and published. From my part, the best thing about it was going that slowly. I redrafted so many holes and think they came out better each time. I never planned on back to back fives or back to back threes and yet I find they worked pretty nicely because it was what the course needed. Of my original 18, only 4 holes were completely unchanged from how I originally envisioned them. It was also great to get others' ideas with planting and try to merge those between the different courses.

That actually answers one of the questions I would've had, about the planting. The courses I have played so far do not look like they are missing anything in terms of planting or environment, so it was impressive to think that 5 courses could be on one plot and not feel absent of anything.

Yeah, after copying the file, depending on object meter, people ripped other areas of planting off where they wouldn't be visible. Would not recommend flying over to Whiskey Run from Trails or Ranch lol. On the other hand, I did manage to plant both Run and Decanter without deleting anything, so if you're going for a fly around, use the Decanter file as that's the 'most complete'. Helps that I had probably the least space to fill.

Wow, glad I finally got an opportunity to focus on playing these courses consecutively, which I think people should do to really capture the entire feel of the project. The cards posted above are in the order I played the courses.
Although I think it can be said that each course maintains its own identity very well, I think what struck me the most after playing them in a row was how cohesive they are as a unit. Even with Run and Dunes taking advantage of the cliffside shoreline and Ranch and Trails heading into the trees, the land movement, bunkering, planting, and overall environment felt tied together so well that it was completely believable as 4 courses within the same resort. I also really liked how both Ranch and Trails came out of the trees to give peeks at the water and the other courses over there.
My poor play didn’t do the designs any justice, but what I think that shows is how good they’d all be as a tour stop.
The VOD of my playthroughs is on my channel for a couple weeks if you’re interested, but it certainly didn’t feature great shots. Haha
The funniest moment though is when I almost went in the wrong hole at Whiskey Ranch. 👀

We have been doing all the courses in order over at 'The High Society of Golf' Online Society on PS4. Loving it!

I've been trying to work out how I'd split the 10 rounds on this plot since September. Maybe something like this: Run - 3 Dunes - 2 Trails - 3 Ranch - 1 Decanter 1 I'd probably say Run was my favourite of the five with Trails close second. Anyway, shameless bump for this thread and its five fabulous courses.
