Welcome to the New South Wales Golf Club in Sydney, Australia A top 50 ranked course in the world, NSW GC was designed by Alister MacKenzie in 1926. "At Sydney , I made an entirely new course for the New South Wales Golf Club at a place called La Perouse. This is a sand duned peninsula which overlooks Botany Bay and presents, I think, more spectacular views than any other place I know with the possible exception of the new Cypress Point golf course I am doing on the Del Monte peninsula in California."
Dr Alister MacKenzie, Golf Illustrated, 1927 While I have never played there myself, the Golf Club did have very good quality images and flyovers which made the accuracy of this recreation far more viable. From a layout and planting perspective, you should find it very accurate to real life. NSW has hosted many major Australian tournaments over its long history but most recently was host to the 2009 Australian Open won by Adam Scott. Both in real life and in this game, I personally enjoy the immersive atmosphere of course designs as much as I do the layout/strategies. Although they play relatively straightforward in this game, the 5th & 6th holes at NSW provide for some of the most spectacular views in world golf. "I have not the slightest hesitation in saying that beauty means a great deal on a golf course; even the man who emphatically states that he does not care a hang for beauty is subconsciously influenced by his surroundings. A beautiful hole appeals not only to the short but also to the long handicap player, and there are few first rate holes which are not at the same time, either in the grandeur of their undulations and hazards, or the character of their surrounds, things of beauty in themselves."
Dr. Alister MacKenzie Hope you enjoy. As always, I welcome any feedback on improvements etc. Cheers. *Disclaimer – on 2 holes, the ladies tees are actually behind the blue (member) tees so the distances will be out by a few meters on those holes only. The Championship tees (black) are set perfectly however. I also would have liked to do a bit more rock work and planting but the object meter was maxed out. :/

Looks incredible! were you able to give the bunkers a second surface of mulch that doesn't leave a gap between the sand and the mulch? Is that a trick or does the new game just allow you to do that?
Wish I'd known the answer before releasing St Enodoc (links course) into the new game!

Wish I'd known the answer before releasing St Enodoc (links course) into the new game! Thanks very much. I tried a lot of different ways of doing the bunkers and I still don't love them tbh. I didn't like any of the rough/mulch surfaces so I settled with just leaving the ground bare and sinking trees under that area to try and get a natural soil wall. You need to keep all the secondary surfaces away from it though so the rough, etc doesn't bleed into the edges underneath the fairway/greens. Came up ok but the transition between the fairway and bunker looks too sharp I reckon. It would be pretty cool to have some kind of a gradient surface option in the future. Thanks again and I'll give St Enodoc a run soon too.

Cannot wait to play this on Simulator. I've played this on my sim with e6 Connect and it's very accurate. Looking forward to this. After PK got any plans? The lakes would be fun Cape Wickham too

Thanks for the plays afightingfury and daniel247golf PK just needs to be planted but I'm having too much fun playing/learning 2k21 atm so might be at least 2-3 weeks away and I want to give it my best. After that I need to try my hand at designing something for myself but also plan to do Brookwater (Qld) which I've got the lidar ready for and then hopefully Kingston Heath or PK South. I'd actually already taken a look at doing Cape Wickham but the amount of work to do it would be pretty extensive. There is lidar in Tasmania but only on parts of the mainland so it would need to be made with manual measurements. I actually know Darius the designer and what they've created there looks amazing.

This course is fantastic! I was super impressed playing it the attention to detail you showed throughout the entire course. Great course in real life, fantastic rendition.

I've been on the designer non-stop trying to update my courses so haven't been plating much but really looking forward to giving this a whirl

The bunkers worked much better when ported though as I could delete all secondary surfaces near them and just paint the rough without squiggly lines of TGC2019 The sinking of the trees under that default rough surface has been done by the gurus for ages (don't know who came up with it first?).
