About to publish a course for the first time. Anything I should know beforehand. What exactly happens when I hit publish? I notice the image associated with my course seems to be a random save. And I am being careful with the camera every time I save to ensure a decent pic. Any option when you publish? I don’t want to do a test run and throw another auto gen into the loop.

Dont stress about it, if you have tested it and are happy with it then go for it. Just remember you can only publish with that course name once so that’s the only thing to be aware of.

Personally, i would always publish a beta under a different name (e.g. Ffrog beta 1) first, and do a couple of playthroughs just to make sure that everything looks ok, and there are no pins on yellow slopes etc.

There are multiple checks you need to go through after hitting publish before the course actually gets published. The process goes like this:
Hit "Publish" -Screen pops up "ALERT. Are you sure you want to publish...?" Hit Confirm -Screen pops up "ALERT. You need to take a screenshot..." Hit Confirm -Camera comes up. You zoom around your course Take a picture in a location you like -Screen pops up "This screenshot has been saved, and your course will now be published" Hit Confirm -Your course publishes

I was a little worried which is why I started the thread. It’s a breeze. As for checking out the course I play tested it seems like an infinite amount. But the best advice I got was just to create a match and when you select the course go to the “My Unpublished Courses” heading. Great way to see how the course plays in the game.

Yes, this is probably the best thing to do, as far as i understand, especially to be sure your pin positions follows the "9 boxes" rule. When i playtest them in the editor, often some yellow slope stays invisible, but it appears when i play all the course.

When i playtest them in the editor, often some yellow slope stays invisible, but it appears when i play all the course. and not only that, when you play some slopes will look green from one side, but yellow from another side. You have to putt around each pin on every hole in a circle to be perfectly safe.
I think pin testing is by far the most unneccessarily tedious thing in the designer.
My advice is if you think a course is 100% done and ready to be published give yourself another week or two before publishing. You will likely still find things that need fixing.
