As I near finishing Stoke Park, I’ve started work on my next WIP.
I’m tackling a course called “St. Enodoch”.
It’s a par 69 links out of the dark ages that is currently ranked #10 of all courses in England.
I’ve never played it but my test play had me hooked on TGC.
No photos at this stage but you can go play it in it’s un-planted glory by searching “STE”.
This could be one of the best links courses in the game when completed. It will not get TGC approved because of the par but who gives a @!$#, it’s a stunning course. Go check it out.
I’ll start posting photos soon once I publish Stoke Park this week.
Peace.

I've been quite busy on this new Links project of late and am probably 3/4 way through the planting, I'm doing all of the gorse and trees first before grass as auto gen has given me a decent amount and I feel the bushes are more important in framing the holes. I'm a little torn as to which colour texture to use, I'm currently using the burnt out yellow look as I will play the course hard and fast although I'm thinking of using texture #12 instead as it looks more natural. thoughts? At the moment I used OSM to import rough around the fairway and i'll use this as a guide when planting the fescue grass. I'm undecided as to keeping the light rough border or switching it to heavy rough. Here's some photos so far; Here's the clubhouse outline with custom built balcony overlooking 18th green Here's the infamous "Himalaya" bunker on the challenging 6th hole; Here's the driveable 4th hole, there will be OB and farmland running tight along the right hand side of the approach and green; Here's the tee shot on the SI 1 10th hole, 457 yards with a hazard and OB left and a tiny fairway; Here's the approach to the 10th green with Enodoch Church on the right; There's no respite on the 11th, a 234 yard downhill par 3 towards Camel Estuary and the beach, OB left and long here; Here's the par 5 16th hole with OB down the right and views of the estuary; If anyone wants a sneaky early play you can find a test publish by searching "STES" or "STES1" the latter is using different texture. I'd be keen to hear people's thoughts on what looks better out of the two, I won't need to make a decision until the end. One thing I know for sure is that you will love the course, such a good layout in real life. Please note, I haven't even began smoothing out splines etc. this is a really early look.

Lot's has happened since my last post, I'm probably a week or so away from the beta release on this. Been doing a LOT of spam gorse planting and deleting and have roughly settled on textures and light. I've used 3/4 of the meter which isn't bad but as you know, grass does take up a lot of meter and I need to plant a lot of grass, it may be that I just focus on greenside and tee side areas first and then other areas if I have enough meter. Before I plant grass I feel it's important to get the clubhouse area refined but will not go overboard as I'd like lot's of long grass, I also need to create a farm with lot's of hedgerows and add livestock plus a small village if I can, this will definitely eat the meter but I just think it frames the course well so will prioritise over the long grass. I've also got to re-do and smooth a LOT of paths. Here's what I have so far;

Don't worry about the par. Greenstone River was on PGA and it's a par 69.
