I didn't want to chime in this thread, and was just going to let it run it's course, but since it just won't end, I guess I ought to just clear up some things.
First off, Tott is taking my comments far more seriously than they were intended. My comments before Reeb streamed his course about starting the conversation on large greens was simply because half the courses I had played to that point had the same issue. We just happened to play his first, and I would have probably had similar comments on the green size of other courses had those come up first. I suppose I made a couple jokes mainly because I didn't have the same level of specific feedback, and wanted to keep the review lighter than "this course repeatedly misses basic building blocks." My attempt to add a little levity to my take obviously was not interpreted that way, which is fine, I can see that. As I stated earlier in this thread, I already arranged it so I wouldn't be Tott's pool of judges, so as far as his course is concerned at this point, my opinion has no weight on how it will do in this contest. So whatever perceived agenda Tott feels I have against his course is a non-issue anyways. And secondly, I find it endlessly amusing that someone can simultaneously create a 10 page thread full of repeated personal attacks, and actively seek out my streams purely to stir up drama, and also claim to be the innocent victim in all this. However long you want to continue the misunderstood-genius-dinner-theater thing is up to you, I've got plenty of popcorn for this descent into madness, and nothing more to add.

I'm not a designer, or an inner circle guy, or much of anything. I'm just me and I'm pretty darn okay with that! Doing a little research on this and I felt interested enough to make a post and discuss. I completely agree that Totten's very first post was um, maybe a little harsh (who we kidding, it was a LOT harsh) and could've been made FAR more constructively, but then I did a little more research and found this, which I felt was VERY FAIR: tgctours.proboards.com/post/450789/threadAustralian's post in this thread regarding karma looked to be very juvenile (my opinion but I stand by it). Fact: We all overreact once in a while and sometimes those comments make it online. Totten made a very fair follow up in this thread, while acknowledging the lack of class in his first post to Australian and it was acknowledged. What also should be noted is if someone starts a thread of this nature like Totten has, be very ready for the responses that are going to come in. The thread did start off in a constructive way but you could feel when it changed to a more personal tone. And you know what? GIF's and MEME's are very passive aggressive. It is of my personal opinion that when it comes to course reviewing (especially in design contests), keep those online/streaming comments in a constructive fashion rather than a "roast" (even if that was NOT THE INTENT). After all, designers are quite passionate about their submissions and have (in most cases) devoted quite some time to their creations. Everyone knows this. That being said, a "joke" said by someone to lighten the mood because golf is boring may very well be received by others as a serious jab to the side. Has anyone considered that? I love this community, but I do pick and choose who to respond to and I know when to let it go. That's an art that many people haven't learned yet. Just trying to see both sides of the coin here. Be blessed, enjoy life and hack away at the unfinished game called The Golf Club 2019.

You know what It just absolutely boggles my mind that folks get all bent out of shape over absolutely nothing I just can not fathom someone getting so disturbed and upset over a review, or anything else.... (Remember I got called a MFER numerous times in a review) This world is frigged up enough without folks taking everything so serious
I post silly memes just to be that, silly.. if it offends I apologize.... not my intent... I just find it hilarious and poke fun at threads like this.. not at people in particular, but at the nonsense itself..
Life is WAY too short to get offended over every single thing... Folks are way to serious over a silly little game
Am I part of the problem with silly memes, yes, Ill admit to that... but its all in fun from a "poke fun at the situation" angle..
for the record, not aiming this at your last jason.... But it did make me think of my meme nonsense

I'm guessing you are referring to my mention of watching golf streams may not be the most exciting thing in the world...that's a serious jab to the side? Really? Sorry then, I guess?

P.s. If you haven't actually been ripped on a review stream of a course you've built for a design contest - key word, "actually," which doesn't seem to be the case here at all, but I'm going to keep going anyway - then you've never lived. It's like to right of passage into the design-contest-community here, comes with the territory, and I think I speak for just about everyone who's been in a contest when I say that, cause we've all been there.
There's a predictable pattern: design an unpolished/sloppy/etc. course early on in your design "career," think it's awesome, get criticized, feel scorned/disrespected/etc., get mad and lash out to some extent, wait a few weeks, realize it was actually constructive, feel silly about getting upset, use the critical feedback to continually improve upon future designs. It's part of the process that 99% of us have gone through/continue to go through as we enjoy trying to get better at some silly little hobby we've all decided to take up, despite our wives wishes
I'll never forget the Taste whiteboard...what a time to live, that was.

Your meme and GIF game is 10/10, no doubt! They make me laugh all the time. And I'm with you. Live life, be happy, have a beer once in a while (or a case). But, and I say this with all due respect, you're not the judge of how others play this game, create courses, etc, their passion, their whatever. All boils down to the individual personality and when communicating online, it can go south very quickly.
