Cool sounds good. These courses take lots of time, so yeah you should definitely work on courses you enjoy working on!

Sweet looking very nice already given zero planting and sculpting! Impressive work with the retaining walls and rocks too!

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I think I’m going to try tackling the waterfall next to the green on 11 next but that’s going to be a challenge for me. I haven’t done much work with waterfalls so far. Should have time to work on it later tonight. I’m a diehard Dallas Mavericks fan and I don’t get much done on game night. They’re off until Friday.
I was afraid that starting a new project would take away time from TGCTours, and it’s definitely happening. I’m so focused on this course that I haven’t even looked at this week’s course/tournament. I’m sure my scores are going to suffer but it’s worth it to me. I’m never going to be a great player but sure do enjoy the designer.

Thanks jwtexan. I know you said you lived in Austin for several years. Did you ever play this course or go to an event there? Just wondering in case you can give me some insight to the course.

Unfortunately no. It is uber private and I never got the chance to play. I have been to the WGC event there once though, it all looks incredibly accurate so far. Would expect nothing less from lidar and after seeing what you did with another Lone Star State course in Colonial.

I figured that was the case for the course. Thank you for the reply. Judging from your picture I’m guessing you went to St Andrews?

Yes! As part of my scottish trip a few years ago. Stayed in Edinburgh, mostly played courses in East Lothian. And that is when I toured Tantallon Castle and got the idea to put a course there when I first bought the game. This was pre-lidar days though, and I play on xbox.

That’s awesome. Hope to get there some day. I’m totally fascinated with links golf. It’s one of the reasons why I love TGC and this community. Getting to play courses that I would love to IRL but probably won’t get to. It’s not the same of course but it helps give me a sense of what playing over there is like. For example, Royal Portrush and Lahinch are two of my favorite RCR’s.

Oh, my pleasure, trust me But I'm noticing only now that your is actually a solo project, I'm correct? So do you play guitar upon loop of drums and guitar made by you? I have a dear friend who create music in this way..is surprising what you can do with some skill, fantasy and the patience to learn how to use properly these tools. I played the bass for him in a couple of songs..we lived in the same house some year ago, now he lives in Rome..he's a genius about to create scenarios for theatre..especially working with lights. Sadly we are not anymore in touch. My bad as always. Sometimes, if you want, we could share what we do. I have still on dropbox a dozen of tracks we created with my last band. Another dead project..but I like what we created. Now I really need a serious band. Really. About Austin..i can't suggest what to do, but I suppose that if you are at a good point with your work, would be senseless to quit. As I said..you can check the Austin we have and you will see by yourself that even if is a very good course in terms of playability, is quite far to be also accurate in the shape of..a lot of thing. No counting that I ignore completely how much accurate slopes on greens and fairways can do. Try to comparate the two courses..then decide by yourself. To be honest, if you would be another designer, I could tell you to leave the project, easily. But I saw what you did at Colonial. I think that if you will do Austin, it will be absolutely worthy of plays and love. I can bet on it. Ezzino, I'm going to respond regarding my music project on your music blog page so it doesn't take up space here.

A couple of new pics from my project: I’ve done a little more work on the waterfall on No 11, but I’m struggling to get it just right. Since the waterfall has frustrated me, I started working on the par 3 17th. The rocks are tedious to do but I’m pretty happy with how it looks so far. Most of the holes have a lot of this so it’s going to be a long time before I finish this entire course, especially because I’m very slow in the designer. The second pic also gives a decent view of the 10th hole as well. Keep in mind I haven’t done any planting so far beyond the computer generated stuff. Still really enjoy working on this course.

It looks fantastic. I knew it would be..but is good to be right I'm sure the final result will make you proud of all the hard work and the weeks you are spending on this, my friend. Just keep going on.
