Coming from a great designer like you, Royce that means a lot. Thank you. Every course of yours that I've had a chance to play was fantastic.

This looks great! I’m actually going to play this course this weekend for the first time. Looking forward to it. That's great. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Let me know how you like the course. It's a classic Ross design and this year is the 100th anniversary of the opening.

I think this is the first Donald Ross course I’ve played and it is easily the toughest greens I’ve ever played.

I loved the course as well. Played it once during a high school meet (that was a long time ago) and had been wanting to go back for years. Totally agree about the greens. Definitely the toughest I've ever played. It's hard trying to capture that in the game without making them impossible to play. Glad you enjoyed the course and hope you enjoy the RCR when I get it finished.

It looks like the Senior LPGA was played in French Lick, but it was on the newer Pete Dye Course, which is an absolute beast. The Ross Course is down the road from the Dye Course and opened in 1917. It has hosted the PGA Championship, LPGA Championship and numerous Indiana State Opens, among others. There is a lidar version of the Pete Dye Course available to play in the game. Not sure when I will have the Ross Course finished.

I'm in pause for coffe&cigarette after 9 holes at the Dye course at French Lick (I'm checking it for the list), the one you was talking about. I know this fits nothing with your work, but I was curious after all the discussion here, so I'll report my experience here cause is all your fault My first thought, now...is that the name of the course is probably written in the wrong way. Probably the real name is Die course. Is..simply crazy. It seems almost unreal that a course like this actually exists. Not just cause the fairways are absurdly tight. But cause..no..WHEN, you miss them, you are actually done, cause they are all elevated and then you should to play with a lie always really, really terrible. And if this should be not enough..then the greens are little in the shape of those at Pebble Beach. And the course from the tips is almost 8000 yards and it plays fast&firm (but at least the rough is mainly light..and is the only touch of humanity on this course ) The funny thing is that you are also forced really often to play shorter than you wish/should, cause the supposed landing zone with driver is way too dangerous. In short..i'm playing with almost no wind and after 9 holes I scored two birdies and a double bogey (it was the welcome at the hole 1..slow downswing from the tee, my fault). I still laugh cause I think that if some designer should ever create a course like this for the game, it would be crucified. Instantly. Then burned. Twice. Then the ashes would be banned. (after been covered with salt. Generously.) More seriously, I also checked the Ross course before to start..it looks quite different. And is also really distant (maybe 1,5/2 miles, something like this) from the Die course. Now I'm really curious to see how it will be your course. Anyway..with Crystal Downs, this is by far the toughest real course i ever played. Well..i go to complete this rap..round. 👀

I played it when nobleman first released it and I didn't break par. Definitely would be crucified if someone created a course in the game like this. Interesting note, my brother got to play the actual course in the pro-am prior to the inaugural Senior LPGA championship that was played there a couple of years ago. Said it was the toughest course he had ever played and they weren't playing from the tips! If I get a chance, I'll post some pics of the Dye Course that I took this summer. We had gone to French Lick to play the Donald Ross Course and stopped by the Dye Course on the way back. It's spectacular for sure. Hopefully I'll get to play it some day on one of my trips back home. I absolutely loved the Ross Course and have to say the greens on that course are easily the hardest that I've ever played. I hope I can capture that in the game I get finished with it.

Anxious to see the final product, from the above pics it looks good!. Took a golf trip with my buddies to French Lick a couple years ago and played this along with the Pete Dye course and Sultans Run (tremendous course) so am excited to play this when its done. Best of luck on the green slope and default speed. Especially on hole 8! The greens at the Ross gave us nightmares.
