Tough course. I think my -17 will make it on the number.
Shot -10 the first round...everything went pretty smooth. I am familiar with the course and know where most of the trouble spots are. I was able to navigate those in rd 1 and escape damage free for the most part. All in all a pretty good round where I stole more shots than I gave away.
Second round I just played last night and knew I needed a -7 or better to make the cut. I shot that right on the number, requiring I make a 10 footer on the 18th. Thankfully it was an uphill just outside left putt....no problem to just hit it firm and walk off with a made cut. That was not the case with most of my putts in r2. My proximity to the hole wasn't bad but my direction to the hole was terrible. Just felt like a number of downhill 8-12 foot benders that broke as much left/right as they had to travel distance wise. It's tough to pour those in over and over again. One 8 footer lipped out and left a longer putt back, which I missed. Thank god the greens weren't all that fast...it would have been brutal on very fast. Curious was r3/r4 will look like conditions-wise. All in all r2 was probably a mix of some bad luck with some playing overly safe just to try to make the cut. I did end up making the cut which was the goal, but kind of wish I didn't know what I needed ahead of time. Left a few out there playing cautious for sure. Self-fulfilling prophecy of a -7.

Made what I think is my highest score on any single hole in the entirety of my time playing TGCT this week from this position:
Any guesses as to what that score was? Bonus points for predicting the series of events which led to that number...

I'll go with 10 (max score on a par 3) Your chip from there went about 45 degrees low and left into the face of the bank, slowly trickling back under the rocks and eventually behind you into the water - with no option but to drop back in that same spot, rinse and repeat....

I bet there was a dogshit drop that put you about 150yds away in there somewhere.

I may have gotten over my ski’s on the “let’s be rivals” thing lol Oh, and winner on the guessing of the score bit. Carded a smooth 11.

No fun stories for me this week - just a solidly decent -10 & -10 to tuck easily inside the cut line. I likes 'em 'ard, so figured I'd fare OK. The course was a touch unfair in spots, but that's all cool in my book... as long as we have week to week variety, I'll always be happy

Don't have a lot of time the rest of the week to finish the tournament so I decided to play out tonight. Spent the day laying Cat 6 cable for our new virtual reality arcade we are opening and I'm spending the weekend loading up operating systems on 8 machines to try and get them ready for official testing next week.
Third round, I had the yips and couldn't find a fairway. Started by bogeying the first hole and really struggled the entire round. Finished with a -3. Round 4 I had some absolutely amazing shots. Nearly holed out for an albatross, just lipping the hole and then missed the 6 foot eagle putt. Other amazing shots included a shot from a fairway bunker that had to put a little draw on, so I hit it with a fast downswing and flew it perfectly over a greenside bunker for a tap in birdie. Nearly holed out two or three other difficult shots. Overall a much better round even with a couple tempo issues. Finished -9 for a total of -33. I think this is the first time in well over a year I beat B.Smooth13. Wonders never cease.
Probably the best tournament I had on the PGA in like...2+ years.

I told Daxon and company I was a mortal and my final round proved that. As always I don't have or make excuses...I just played poorly. I just don't know where the poor play came from. I only went for -5 in my final round for a total of -39. I'm still happy with the final result...hoping for a top 15...,but without a doubt a top 20...and one of my season 6 goals was to place in the top 25 EVERY tournament. Anyway...on to next week

I took a 6 on that hole in R2 when I got too greedy with my approach shot out of the rough ended up at the base of the rocks in the bunker. My flop shot ended up hitting the rocks and going backwards. Glad I didn't take 11 or I would have been in dead last instead of tied for dead last SMIFFYLFC79 does that mean we're 1-1 for the season now as you're not on the leaderboard?
