Its amazing how many rcrs out there appreciate the work of enzin collating list. Plus congrats to all fellow designers who put in incredible amount work to get these courses out there. Myself some point i will do second rcr have couple uk irons my first took so long to do but to be fair it was pre lidar. So lot grunt work looking videos pictures, google earth to get idea of the course. At moment although chan lidar tool incredible, feel i cant do my lidar course justice as lidar eats up too much plant meter that i need to use. The course i plan inside horse racing track which makes it unique.

Which uk courses are you working so I don’t step on your toes? docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Q-PtvGuDgD_USXlI-7rQw4yi7_rRSDizNgJHpNqer5w/edit#gid=0I don't know if it can be useful for you, but if you are looking for some idea i'm working also on this list, as i said before, exactly to help designers to find some idea when it seems to be missing. In the "Taken by" column, is also indicated if some designer is already working on some course. Sadly i can't be sure that i don't miss something, i try to update the list constantly, but it depends by the news i can find everytime. The courses listed are simply those used at some point on some great tour or event..or the listed in the top100 best world courses. I'm looking to enlarge the list, but i had not the time in these days, sadly. But the idea is to put also the top 10/20 courses of every country...and some hidden or forgotten gem. vladthemert thank you i'm really happy, actually, just cause i see that everytime i open the list, there is always someone who's checking it. This means that, at least, this thing is a bit useful for someone..and my goal was exactly this. Trying to give back something to a community that gives me...a lot, evey day.. And yes, is really impressive, to see the great and passioned work of so many designers..and the number of RCRs we have is really HUGE Obviously i'm aware there are listed also courses not so accurate..or not enough well designed for TGCT standards, but i can't/wont (and have not the knowledge, mainly ) to decide and judge about this side of the thing...so i preferred simply to list everything and who plays a course can judge by himself what he like and why

I can recommend this site: www.top100golfcourses.com/As for "taken" - I think that if we all post in the under construction part of the forum, and also try to keep up to date on the work that is being done - there is better chance of avoiding that we are doing the same courses. I am quite happy that more and more are doing real courses.

And they lists the top course of every country and region, that's what makes this site really different. And often the reviews of the various guys who plays the courses are really entertaining. Sadly they still have not a list about the top South American and African courses..but is really detailed about all the rest.

Well..now that i'm in total quarantine for who knows how much time, my plan is to focus myself totally about the game. It means to work on the course i'm designing, to practice with master clubs to restart to play the Tour..and to update correctly the list of RCRs and to check how many courses i can. I tried, to keep updated this list even in these months, but having really few time and often no internet..and sharing my pc with my girl, i'm sure i missed who knows how many courses here and there. The list contains right now almost 900 courses, but about a lot of them i have only the correct scorecard and total par, i still must check them to verify they are accurate. By yesterday, to start, i'm checking the released courses in the last week, looking for real courses (almost 200 pages of released courses in game to check) but i wish some help about 2 things : 1) If, checking the list, some of you should note some old course is missing, could you indicate it to me so i can add it? Especially those courses released between novemeber and february. I tried to recovery those courses released by the most prolific designers, but probably (if not surely) i missed those released by the new or the less prolific designers. 2) These months of inactivity caused a HUGE delay in my plan to try to verify by myself every single course. And the spread is now so big that i must be realistic and to admit that is simply impossible for me to recover it all alone. So..if someone should have the desire to help checking these real courses using a satellite map, this would be the right time to do it. Otherwise, i'll try simply to do my best as always.

Bearforlife73 If you want to help, you can check any course you want But probably the most useful thing would be to start by those non lidar courses that often (really often) are definitely not accurate enough/at all. And, if you are a PS/XBox user, to add the designer's names that i can't see or verify, using a pc. You also touched one of the main problems i faced from the start doing this list. As you can easily see, playing some course of that list, there are BIG differencies between courses about their accuracy and/or visual appeal. I listed RCRs not so nice looking..and also RCRs nice looking but not enough accurate (indicated as RL, Real Lookalike). This cause i realized that, if i should add only those courses spot on about accuracy AND quality of design, probably the list would be made by more or less 100 courses. And it could also create long debates and i don't want to harm the ego of anyone, here. Also, i must accept that these things are not so important in the same way for everyone, so i tried to be "friendful", accepting in this list more or less every course has the correct routing and scorecard (just specifying in a comment if, for some reason, mainly for a publishing issues, the par on some hole should be wrong). Honestly i still think that some course could/should be not accepted in this list, cause they are really poor designed, but, at the same time, i noticed really really soon that, if i start to create an "ideal standard" about this, it would be sometimes really hard to decide if and how much a course is under that standard. So..after lot of time spent thinking about the problem, i decided to add in the list all of them and, at least, just indicate with a comment also if a course is poor designed. At the same time, i'm fully open to receive advices to improve the whole thing. After all, i always considered this list like not something just mine..but as a property of the community. One thing i was thinking about, in these days, is to indicate with a different color of the "R", those courses really well made on every point of view. Do you think it could works?

I’ve played a lot of the courses on this list and I’ve noticed that some of them have really nice playability but the overall course just seems not in the right area so if you could do the rl and r in different colors it would help people searching for quality courses that have the feel off an actually real world course which includes the visuals if you would send me list of course that you haven’t got to I can check the visual stuff for you and send you my opinion on them coming from a designer myself

And..about how to send your opinions, if you want i can do a better thing. I can study a bit to understand how to do it (i'm definitely a newbie with google docs)..and i can add you as a co-worker on the list, so you can change what you want with no need to tell me anything. I told you..this list is not "mine". If i could find people sincerely interested to offer a service to the other players, i would be only happy about this. Furthermore..when months ago i was forced to leave home for work, staying with no pc for 3 months, i understood that is stupid to stay alone working on this. So...i could be only super happy to find "a team" of people interested in this. Maybe it would require some compromise to be all of us on the same page, but it can be also a great way to improve the list, so i'm ready to do it. Just let me know if you are interested..and thank you, anyway.

Well..after a couple of days in which i checked almost 300 pages of released courses to add into the list all the RCRs i found, now this work is done and the list now has almost 1000 courses (and i still should verify 50, maybe 70 courses that i noted on my papersheet months ago but i never had the chance to check their scorecard to proof they are actually recreations of real courses, i'll do it in these days). At this point, i'll simply check more or less daily (cause being everybody at home for the quarantine, every day there are 40-60 pages of released courses ) the released courses page to update the list properly. At least i'll do it until i'll be in quarantine. Later, we will see. I'll restart also to check every course, to update the number of plays and the HCP rating every 2-3 weeks. I'll restart, obviously, also to check the courses to verify they are accurate and in short, actually RCRs. But, most important thing, i wish to try also to "refine" this list, partially deleting all those courses really too poorly designed AND not accurate at all..and partially looking for a simple and smart way to indicate the courses not so good. I think i'll use different colors..probably is the simplest way..but i'm open to suggestions on this thing. But, to be clear, i don't want to find a way to indicate the best courses, cause i'm absolutely sure this thing could finally to create only useless and endless debates..the Ego of designers is something i must deal with..and i don't want to harm anyone . I wish just to indicate those courses that are or not only not accurate enough, but also more or less poorly or roughly sculpted but not so bad to be deleted..if this makes sense. For all the rest, i'll continue to specify details, when is needed, using comments. Another thing i wish to do, is to add (with a comment in the cell with the name in game of the course) all those courses with more or less the same name of the actual RCRs, but that are not RCRs at all (just to make a fast example why this thing could be useful..i'll try to tell you one more time: the version of Winged Foot with 2020 in the name that it seems ALL YOU plays, considering it has almost 10000 plays, IS NOT A RCR AT ALL! And i mean AT ALL!!! In terms of accuracy and realism is pure GARBAGE, right? The ONLY accurate version we have of this great course is named "Winged Foot West", is made by Josh Nezat, it has hardly 400 plays and is a f***ing STUNNING accurate work. I insist often on this course cause, if i try to look at this thing from the designer's perspective, is honestly pretty offensive to see his hard, great, perfect work it has so few plays, when an actually semifictional course with just the same name has 10000 plays...). Anyway..in conclusion, i'll also repeat that,if as community, you think this list is an useful tool, thinking about the future it would be better to create a little team to work on this thing, instead to do it just by myself, because, even if i really love to work on it and, after all, i must admit i definitely prefer to work alone on it, i must admit also that (as it already happened) when/if i should be forced to leave the game, this thing it would be just dead. And it would be sad to lose an useful tool for the players. I think it would be enough to have 3-5 "RCRs Rangers", possibly at least one per console (cause using a pc, for example, i can't indicate the name of the designers on Xbox and PS4), to check properly all the courses we have..something that, sadly, at this point (after 3 months of absence) is absolutely impossible i could ever do by myself. Just too many courses

Truly phenomenal work Vinny, as I always say.
I've always been tempted to get involved in helping you with this, but just find that I won't be able to tell if they are accurate.
I like your idea of using colours in the database for different levels of course.
May I also suggest a separate list of all the "famous" courses? (This could help with the winged foot issue you mention.) I know you have a heading for what tournament they have hosted, but I think a completely separate list, maybe not even Google docs, just a word doc, would be useful. Maybe the admins here could sticky it somewhere...

I know you have a heading for what tournament they have hosted, but I think a completely separate list, maybe not even Google docs, just a word doc, would be useful. Maybe the admins here could sticky it somewhere... Is an interesting idea mate. I faced this problem when i started to work on the other list, trying to offer some suggestion to the designers doubtful about what course to create, adding in this list all the most important real courses we still DON'T have in game. (i should update it..is stucked by months..) The problem here was (and still is) : how i can give an exact definition of "most important" or "famous"? In the end, i solved the issue adding every course ever used on PGA, Euro Tour, Ryder Cup, Majors etc..then the top courses of the world, every continent and every nation as indicated by the site top100goulfcourses (although this part of the work was still not finished when i stopped to work on it) But i also noticed that this way to proceed, often don't takes in count of great courses. Real gems, often hidden. Anyway..this kind of list it would be easy to realize. With some well aimed copy/past i don't think it could require too much time. I fear simply that, at some point, after the most obvious selections, the decision about what course to add or not it could be a matter of tastes..and it would be sad and wrong to inficiate this work with my tastes. Another thing i would like to do, about this, it would be to create a list based on the architets. I mean..all the courses made by Dye, Colt, Simpson, Raynor, Old Tom Morris etc etc. The only, but huge issue here (already found out working on this list) is that often, really often, a famous architect don't created a course, but just did some renovation works..and unfortunally i have not the knowledge (or i can't find every time some documentation to explain the whole thing, as it hapoens for the less famous golf clubs) to understand every time if these renovation works were been so important to say that now that course is "made by him". No counting all those courses in which more than one famous architect worked on, at some point. I don't know exactly how to proceed, but i would like a lot to do this thing. Considering how many fans we have about architecture applied on golf, maybe it would be an useful list...i don't know. Ah..anyway..now that i have some time to spend playing/checking some course, if you have some request about some specific course to check, probably this could be the best possible moment to ask, mate
