I’ve still never ‘practiced’ my chipping pitching or flopping. Don’t even know what the practice fairway looks like. I’ve always played just by feel and adjusting my backswing length to shorten them. I’m aware I lose shots but i like playing the game the way I play it. Even when loft box is allowed I only use it a little to add or remove a metre or two, which represents (to me) moving the ball back or forward a little. I got sick of missing cuts in TST so went to Pro clubs there. I realise the tempo is pretty easy, but people have off tempo swings (on average) on XB with players about the same amount as the people playing Masters on PS4. If I’m going to have a disadvantage I’d rather it be distance than accuracy, which is why I do it. If we were on a level playing field I wouldn’t feel the need... Regarding the pro clubs just not for me Ray I just find them too much like TGC1 for my liking as in they go consistently straight and that's not the golf I watch and play. I watched your streams and you strike the ball perfectly fine with master clubs, why change your game because of others over at TST just to compete?. Although even though the course was only 6000 yards 68 under is just arcade golf. An average of 17 under a round shows how overpowered that loft box is for the top players. Also just watched someone's replay over there with 3 ghost balls, just shows how much the sim aspect is taken seriously 🤔

That round was pretty good timing, it’s a raffle on XB though.
5 min till R2 begins on Mixer 👍

Yeah, I don’t play in real life but I’d definitely say it’s unrealistic...at least the way I use it in non-USE. I use slow backswings on the 1 iron and 2 wood (pausing at the top) as gap fillers...with the goal being to take like 30 yards off the carry lol. It’s a tough shot to pull off, but I totally see why it wouldn’t be allowed here and I’ve stopped doing it since the rule was added. Just to repeat my feelings on it, as the topic has resurfaced, I always accepted it was unrealistic, but as it requires a lot of judgment still, I thought it was fair enough to "exploit" that game mechanic in game. I will admit, on short game, I can now see it is "overly" helpful. However, it was clear last time this came the vast majority don't want it. The community was asked, it was democratic, I'm always happy for what the majority wants to be what happens I've not really practiced much to be honest, but I'm back on tour. There's been a few shots where I've been punished BADLY for my lack of experience, but I've sorted my chipping pretty quickly, and it's not coming up that often that it's destroying my scoring... Yeah there’s definitely skill involved as you can easily bomb it if you get a slow but just barely, or be way the hell short if you hold a second too long. But it is what is it is I can definitely understand why the vote went that way. When I get distance like 215 in this now, I just accept that I’m gonna have to be short or long and pick the “least dangerous” club as that’s my bad yardage where I have really nothing to hit ( barring conditions where a 5 iron might get a lot of roll or something). In the tgct rounds though, the 1 iron is coming out the bag. On chips and flops, I’ll usually do a practice swing or two just to remind myself where 75% is, and just try to hit accordingly. I’m pretty much just swinging by “feel” though.

Alright guys, just published BS Beta. Give it a try, and let me know what you think. Interested in opinions as there is a lot going on with it. Haven't tried SIM settings or wind. Choose one of the back two tee sets with the second one in being the most fun and plenty difficult. Robyn, I just played this on all default from the blue tees. Wow what a really nice course! The setting was beautiful with the fall look. I even tried out most of your sand traps and a lot of rough. The green on the par 3 12th was very tricky. I had low wind for the round and was thankful. This course would play like a bear with high winds for me. I did manage to finish Even par for the round. Overall I thought the course was very well done. I hope some others will give it a go and give you some feedback.

The 12th is nasty, but for a 110 yard par 3 that green works. Still have a lot of planting to do on the back 9. I would have posted somewhere else, but really respect you guys opinions.

Round 2 in the books. Had a 1 shot lead before a very fast wedge on 14 (?) led to a double bogey v birdie and a 3 shot swing. Just went into business hours here on the back 9 and tempo got tougher, lag got worse.
Eagled 18 to get 1 back, 3 shots back going into the weekend but feel like if I bring some good stuff I’ll get the job done. I watched his stream as I played and happy to report zero use of loft box, follow cam and his swing line and tempo was good but not so good anyone would give it a second glance. His tempo was a little off at times, but it’s XB - that’s how we roll. His swing lines missed both sides and to varying degrees.
He also has a phat ass in those gym pants, woo hoo Jamima 😉
Edit - He’s -5. I’m -2 thru 36

stoneysooner I just got done playing your course. played from the tips, with winds that were 10-15mph
I thought it was very nice! I loved the setting and the aesthetics, it was beautiful. And I liked the fact that it seemed quite challenging, but not overwhelming, even to me, and you've seen my scores, you know my handicap. It seemed like every hole was a challenge, but if I paid attention to what I was doing, I could find a way to score. If things went well, I could achieve that. One wrong move, and I was out of scoring position, but still on most holes I found a way to get back to par.
The only hole I didn't care for was number 12, I think it was a par three. I hit my ball past the hole, maybe about 20 ft to the side, but just past it, still on the green. When it dropped, I thought cool, ought to be able to putt close, then par this one. But the ball hit, stopped, then started rolling backwards, back towards me. It rolled past the hole, down the hill, completely off the green, then down into the middle of that lowest bunker, about 30 yds away from the hole. I can see if I chipped the ball or something and it hit and kept rolling. But this ball came to a stop and then started rolling backwards and managed to roll that far. Thats a pretty severe slope to have a pin location, I would think.
Otherwise, thoroughly enjoyed it, and would not mind at all running across this one on the tour!

I don't usually report my scores or rounds unless something goes wrong or venting. LOL
R1 at Pebble though, I played about as good as I can play. Only three bogies, and each one of them was only because I missed a short par putt by a few inches. I was hitting the ball really well tonight.

Back in the USE, back battlin' the likes of JosiaDB, ChipsforAces and @andersnm. Round started hot (chirpies on 1 & 2) then cooled to turn at -1. Inward half found a rhythm, swing felt good ya know? No Humphs and 6 chirpies. -7 for round 1, which happened to tie legends like Tuffguts and hammers1man! Onward!

Choose one of the back two tee sets with the second one in being the most fun and plenty difficult. I played the gold tees, rd 1 hole position, default everything except I put medium wind. I played under USE conditions except I used the follow cam. Hole 2 gave me a very good first impression - Nice course. I know nothing at all about stuff like course design, nor do I play real life golf, so I can’t really give you any good feedback on that kinda thing. I can just say i enjoyed playing and it looked good. I went -7, but that felt on the boosted side as I also had a chip in hole out. My par 5s were obviously super long from the golds, so I don’t think I had any eagle chances from what I recall. I can definitely see the potential for it being really tough...I also had a very lucky putt on 12 go in for par after flopping out of the bunker to the right. That looks like a nasty hole.

Round 3 and 4: Lots of pars - one eagle, and overall not that great play. -1 and even par on the rounds, so ended up on even par for the tournament. Think you will manage to beat this hammers1man , Art Vandelay

I think I just missed Ray on XBox so I'm going to try and stream the first two rounds on PS4 through Youtube. Can't resist Pebble.

Josia,
Thank you so much for the play and comments. From the sounds of it, I need to do some sculpting work on #12 as Booze mentioned that as a nasty hole as well. As a designer, that is the kind of feedback I am looking for. Thanks again for the play.
Regards,
Robyn

You are crazy man. The golds are 7900 yards and to play on USE settings. -7 is very impressive. Seems that the shortest hole on the course (110 yards) is the nastiest. I'll likely tone it down some, but I don't want to ruin the design aspect to it.
