I was wondering how designing on a smaller scale would work. I've noticed when playing outside of the designer, that the ball sometimes isn't in the exact place it stopped. I could have a putt land against one of my markers and the following shot would be from the side of the marker. Sometimes deflections don't have the same result, I'm wondering if maybe objects are a little off sometimes. Hmmm ohheycat That happens a lot, even on full-scale courses. Sometimes my ball has come to rest against an obstacle and when it comes time to take the next shot the player is on the other side of the obstacle.

I am basically finished with the "Bling" on my course, so I am presenting a taste of the fun to be had at FAMILY MINI GOLF & GAMES! Bring all the relatives and friends! Mom and Dad, cousins uncles everyone and enjoy the games, or just relax around the Resort-Style Pool or at the Beach where the little ones can wade and splash! For those who want a little more activity, there is the Hopscotch Court and Horseshoe Pits or perhaps a little refined play on the regulation Croquet Court A little more vigorous activity you say; come sweat on the Handball court or our two regulation lighted tennis courts. and of course there are 18 hole of Mini-Golf to be played! I am not showing any of that because I have run across some of the playability issues others have mentioned. ENJOY!

Whoa! I’ve never really seen something like that level of change Ohhey. That sucks. Guess we will see what happens upon publish, or more importantly if it plays consistently across different playthroughs. I'd be able to tell just by watching, as today I had a ridiculous round of 35 with 2 par 4 aces and a few eagles. Clearly its playing consistent to make that happen, but I cant fathom what happened yesterday. Out of my hands at this point. I'm not changing a thing

I'm not changing a thingI I hope getting eagles, birdies and aces is not expected in this contest! I have yet to break par on my layout even though it is rolling like it is supposed to. Probably half the holes a birdie is possible, I have aced two different holes, but for at least half of the holes par is a good score, achievable with the correct shots, but mishits are penalized. Also, my course must be played at 187 green speed - anything slower and I am not sure some of the holes will work.

Any par and any greenspeed you prefer is fine. The judges won't award bonus points (or any points) for how far under par they are on the course.

Yeah my pars are basically par + 1. While possible to score super low knowing all of the ins and outs, I doubt anyone will shoot 35 but a few may shoot 40 if they play it a few times. As I said earlier my minimum par had to be 3, and since par is relative some holes had to be assigned a higher one. The club set used will also impact how my course plays.. as an example throughout the process on hole 9 I have always used the beginner set and pretty much eagle/birdie every time. But the first time I tried with masters today I shot a 9 as I pushed my putt slightly and found myself back on the tee. A few times. There are a few skill shots that are profoundly more difficult with masters. Buuuut I'm just going to let people play what they play. I tried pretty hard to help golfers get rewarded for the risk if they take it, make it look close when it never actually was. That's what will make it so fun.
I'm hoping so anyway. Anyway at this late stage if anyone is doubting what they did as it seems too different from everyone else or whatever.. my advice to just focus on executing your vision. Minis are pretty varied in real life too. My course is so far out there it's kind of ridiculous. But I cant see anyone not enjoying a round here. I'm sure it'll be the same with all of the courses, the little nuances and cleverness you conjure. I'm going to be a big name in the soon to be born minigolf HOF that's for sure. Getting close to publish here now guys!

Also, my course must be played at 187 green speed - anything slower and I am not sure some of the holes will work. After making that blanket statement about green speed, I went back and played the course at slower speeds. The result: It plays OK at 165, a little tougher but doable; at 152 there are a couple of holes that do not play as intended which will add stokes. Also, in reference to oheydog's statement about publishing above - I thought these were to be published between Sept 1 to 15, true?

Baby will be here before the publish window opens, so I'm working on my completed thread while I have the chance. Maybe that puts my head in a different place but it's still pretty close

16 holes done and here's my latest hole which features 2 shortcuts, the hardest shortcut leaves a shorter putt whilst the easier will be harder to get close to the hole.

I started off using the broken walls to get them smooth but found out it would take ages, so I went with the shortest wall for most of it then moved the splines around to fit inside it.
