Reading this thread as an outsider and wondering what flicking and short swinging are? I use one thumb and kind of flick on my downswing. Anywhere I can read more about these techniques?

Thanks for the useful answer.
Well to be fair - you have literally just asked 'please tell me more about a technique that is pushing the limits on legality with the API'
Why would anyone give you instructions on how to cheat?

Why would anyone give you instructions on how to cheat? He should just read our weekly threads or ask the best players in the world.

Reading this thread as an outsider and wondering what flicking and short swinging are? I use one thumb and kind of flick on my downswing. Anywhere I can read more about these techniques? Flicking is essentially as its described, instead of holding the joystick against the plastic to complete the swing, you just "flick" it forward and let go. Results in an incomplete and often wonky swing line, but ultimately means that, whereas a complete swing may have registered a block or pull, a short swingline can result in a straighter shot. Its not illegal, and you wont get flagged by API for simply exercising a "short swing", but if it makes all your shots arrow straight, you'll be pulled.
Hope this helps.

The disappointment never ends. Smh. Will have to wait for 1st win. Only a matter of time. Really hope someone finishes at -29 or better. Cause I choke citied with another -7 in rd 4 and tied Crawesy with a -28. But will lose card off going back to 13. Doubled 6 to give away the tournament. I was -4 thru 5 and I went for a hero shot like a fool with that green. Just left it 50 feet short. Only place you can't leave it. And I knew that during practice rounds. Thought I hit a great putt. Nope. Off green. Goosed chip 12 feet past. Missed bogey putt. Thanks for playing. Oh well. Had a chance on 18. But naturally left 40 footer 2 feet short in the jaws. Shouldn't have played round 4 practice round as I was -11. Didn't really have any part of my game at top level all tournament. Just wasn't leaving myself in bad spots which is 1/2 the battle on that course. Anyways, awesome course. It was nice to have par be good on many holes/hole locations. Knowing I could make 5 pars in a row and not have that lose me the tournament (which is usually not the case)...was very enjoyable. Like I said before - sign me up for courses like this 24/7/365. How most people enjoy playing in tournaments where 75+ players shoot -30 or better will always boggle my mind! So much more fun imo to actually have to play well to fire a good score. Good luck to all still to play their final couple rounds! unlucky mate. I was the opposite in rd4 got lucky n hit some flukes. Few fast swing bunker shot that hit the flag n stopped it going deep rough

Do not believe any of these fake flick stories!! The only way to flick properly is to put the joystick between you ass cheeks, and sway back and forth in time with a Barry White tune. I have tried this but I dont like Barry White so no good for me. 😜 I did try with a Red Hot Chilli Pepper song but kept getting Fast/fast swings.

Been playing video golf since it's inception, and have always had the same swing, it's my swing. I don't know what flicking is, but if it passes API what's the big deal? If it works, why don't more people do it? My guess is because it's hard.
When it comes to video games unfortunately, there will always be people that think if they can't do it, nobody can so they must be cheating.
For the record, I don't care who thinks what about my game, I play for relaxation and my own enjoyment. I love the competition, and tip my cap to the top players.
And please, don't ever let me promote to the PGA so I don't have to read threads like this every week. 😂😂

I loved the Greenland sized greens, I was perplexed with pin positions, which were probably more suited for greens 95% smaller. I suppose that's why they were so large, if your chip, flop or whatever ran past the hole by three feet, you were left with a 50ft putt or chip or flop back up towards the hole. I couldn't break par in any of the rounds. I thought the course was great from the tee.

Lots of people are doing it and many are failing API due to it but continue to flick as it gives them a big advantage and they aren’t swayed by the fact it’s breaching fair play metrics... If you think that people are pissed that they can’t flick, you couldn’t be further from the truth, seriously. Im not about to explain the ins and outs of it again, so that’s all I have to say on the matter.

All this talk about respecting someone else's style of play is just white noise. If it passes API that's what the criteria is now. If and when that changes, then there will always be another"flick" swing, or some other form that will be considered breaching fair play metrics to talk about.

I will give you a break because it’s obvious you have no idea what you are talking about. Fair? There are multiple API DQ every week including this one that involves flicking a major majority of time. That is where this stems. Some have even posted getting 18 shots with zero deviation! That in itself isn’t even the deal breaker. The killer is being able to fully loft with little penalty, those are scoring shots.
