It appears that based on activity in other threads, be someone is here more for stirring the pot than the actual golf.
Say, are you from the same family tree as a gentleman named Wagtunes? If so, what is your puppets name?

although i voted for Jack having seen both of them in action is it fair to compare pass with present in any sport It's like this with every sport. I don't know if you follow basketball but that's what happens with the whole Jordan/Kobe/LeBron debate. The physicality and importance of defense is a not nearly what it used to be which helps skew numbers like scoring.

I thought we'd agreed to disagree and move on without further animosity Larry... in a polite & friendly PM that I initiated... see that you were less genuine & are still stewing some months later. Ashton will be able to tell you what that usually means... Moving on from this nonsense now - love you all x And clearly you were never genuine in the first place since you never apologised for that comment, so whatever. More than happy to go back to ignoring each other, just thought it was interesting to see you get the same treatment.

Here are some smaller stats that slip through the cracks. Tiger's winning percentage career on the PGA Tour currently is 23%, this was upward of nearly 30% after 2009. Nicklaus's winning percentage is 14%. Tiger has dominated in WGC/ Playoff events which feature the very very best players in the world. It's not like Tiger has been winning the lower echelon tournaments such as Greenbrier, John Deere Classic, Valero etc. In Tiger's 81 wins the average margin of victory was 3.2 strokes, Jack's was 2.4. Tiger won 4 tournaments by double digit strokes including 2 majors by 15 and 12 strokes. Jack never won any tournaments by more than 9 shots. Both were incredible and essentially neck and neck but I think these aforementioned reasons give Tiger the slight nod and advantage.
Also, I am not even including Tiger's dominance in Euro events.

Good stats golferdude. I think Tiger has missed around 20 cuts in his career where Jack missed closer to 4 times that amount.
There still years for Tiger to miss more cuts if he plays in an older more declined state, but amazing that with the down years, swing changes, chipping yips, etc. Tiger has missed less cuts in his career than someone like Spieth who's 18 years younger

I think the advancements of technology and golfing equipment since Jack's days has been a huge leveler of players, yet Tiger still manages to be head and shoulders above his competition.

Tiger is a fantastic golfer until you mention his average Ryder Cup record but that makes me love him even more😁.JN definitely the GOAT at this moment in time but that can change in the near future.

That artwork is amazing. It captures an idea (Tiger is king of golf) superimposed with historical context (he just won The Masters), popular culture (Game of Thrones is popular in 2019) and emotion (exhilaration).

It's funny reading here it seems seeing unless Tiger reaches Jack's 18 major's only then he will better than Jack? A crock if you ask me. Tiger is easily the GOAT.
It's like saying Jason Belmonte who just set the record with 11 majors but only 20 PBA wins is better than Earl Anthony (10) or Walter Ray William's Jr (8) who both also have over 40 PBA wins. Ludicrous!

Ludicrous! Pro golfers do get judged on Major wins, maybe it is wrong but it happens. Jack's Major record is incredible with 19 2nd place finishes compared to Wood's 6. Jack is the greatest Major golfer right now, his record speaks for itself. His consistency in being in contention was mind blowing. It is far from ludicrous for people to say Jack is the GOAT. As I said that can change because Tiger's career is far from over.

How did I miss this? Lol, some of you do make me chuckle 😂 It's an almost impossible question to answer with certainty because the eras are completely different. Tiger is a magician but he does it with equipment Jack had no access to. Tiger's big problem is he's made himself a hard man to like. He doesn't interact with the fans like most of his fellow pros do, questionable personal life, gobs all over the green (seriously disgusting behaviour ), etc. It's a bit like Lewis Hamilton and Andy Murray over here, we cheer them on but they are also very hard to like. As a player Tiger probably is the GOAT, as a sportsman it's Jack. Anyway I voted for Seve

I was with you till you mentioned Murray! He was a bit gruff with interviewers early in his career, which I still actually liked! Because he always spoke the truth and didn't do the BS the others (esp fed) did of "aren't I a great guy" fakery.
But late in his career, he's been open, funny, bit of a trailblazer as well.
One of the best British sportspeople of all time.
(Agree on tiger tho!)
