Cheap shots, but I’m nothing if not cheap.

After opening with a miserable -2 I contemplated an early retirement. But I remembered that Larry passed me on the FedEx list again so I tried to regain some dignity through the last 3 rounds. Was able to bring it back to -35, which considering where I started, is a win in itself. 2 round number is -16. Does that make it through?

Just a note to all you early golfers - if you post a good score, keep it to yourself - you're just letting others know how low they need to go to win. lol theduke21 Though, I guess there's not much you can do if they play on the same system! #firstworldproblems #ps4masterrace

Managed to overtake Tyler by one to get to the top of the early leaderboard at -54. Rounds of 59,57,57,61 As you can imagine, I played very well to get to that score. I really shouldn't have had to sweat so much during round four though. I was absolutely choking until midway through the back nine, where I held myself together to post a decent total to chase. I missed some short putts during that final round, the miss from 6 feet on 8 was the worst of the lot. The round and tournament were getting away from me when I holed a tough putt on 14 from 12 feet or so: then everything changed with a holed chip shot on 15 for eagle to get me even with Tyler. Needing one more birdie to reach the top of the leaderboard, I played an absolute beaut to 8 feet on 16; but I missed the putt to the right after a complete misread. Then on 17, I had the perfect number for a nine iron - but the upslope didn't play as I thought it would and I hit my approach 9 feet by the hole. This time I read it correctly and it found the middle of the cup. Still got that nagging feeling that my struggles in round four are going to cost me. Good luck all

I'm coming back to the PGA...mark my words. I will come back and show Canuck how it's done. See you in 3 weeks!! Holy crap, I can't remember the last time Doyley and I were on the same tour. I'm not sure I'm willing to concede you beating me but you play with a controller so .... pfft.
Watching the elite group playing, I'm reminded of what Bobby Jones said of Tiger Woods, "He plays a game with which I am not familiar." I've always had a decent game. When I got hot I could contend occasionally but consistency was and has been always an issue. As a mouse player we all got hosed during the release of this game with the near impossible swing/tempo & it only got fixed with the patch but even then, this is a whole new level. Watching the highlights videos, my mind still can't wrap around the fact that the follow through on those shots are 1/2 to 3/4s through the cone. The only time I ever see a shot of mine that doesn't hit the top of the cone is on a putt. This leads me to conclude (rightly or wrongly) that one of the reasons I struggle is I'm having to play with a follow through that is 1/4 to 1/2 longer than some others. Heck some of my follow throughs hit the top of the circle and bounces a bit up there. Does it make a difference in the overall game versus these other players? Honestly I don't know but I know that I can't "flick" a mouse, believe me I've tried. I tend to agree that PS4 players have a definitive advantage over other players. On my tour Alexandre moved from PC to PS4 and boom, he wins. Brad switched and look what he has done. Honestly it is a no-brainer. Still I'm with you, Crazycanuck1985 . It sucks knowing you can play your best and get on the top tour but realize you really have little to no chance of ever truly being competitive.
Having played with B.Smooth13 on this course recently, he shot a -10 as if it was nothing. I don't think I saw him take longer than 15 seconds on any shot. The swing seemed automatic, much like my own was in TGC 1. His putts, especially his downhill putts, always seemed to be lined up for allowing WAY too much break and yet, somehow the ball was always nipping at the hole. I'm talking like often 1/4 to 1/2 of a grid more than I would play. The guy's a freak.
As for streaming, I can't blame the elite for not streaming their rounds. As Smoothie stated, one hiccup in the stream can cause an unwanted variance of the FPS which tends to result in unexpected and inconsistent tempo issues. Something that isn't conducive when you are trying to shoot -13 or better on Augusta.

It looks like two seperate lines or something. What happened is what I'm asking.

Played well but the total just didn’t show it. Had a tough time getting makeable putts on the front after R1. But I did have a Masters highlight. Something to hang my hat on!

Think I was -16 at half way...R3 I was trolled 🙄... R4 shot a nice -14. Finished at -34 if I make cut which may be doubtful. Still can’t put four good rounds together. Great shooting by the usual suspects, all the best everyone.

Well, I couldn’t be happier with my play through 2 rounds. As a very mediocre Webbie cut-line chaser, I wasn’t expecting much in my return to Augusta. But some timely putting and decent shot-making means I won’t be anywhere near the bottom of the leaderboard at the midway point.
R1 -7 R2 -8
-15...hoping it’s good enough for the cut, but I have no idea what to expect in today’s PGA Tour.
Something about Augusta (ahem, Magnolia) brings out my best. My favorite course and tournament

R2 holes 9 thru 18 I had a fast tempo downswing every shot. It’s like the game flipped a switch and I couldn’t fix it. Swung slower, paused at top longer, faster backswing...none of these prevented the fast downswing. Shot +1 in that stretch and lost all chance of making the cut.
