Avery, you are probably trying too hard on the PGA. You have a confort zone here that frees you up. The courses are more difficult there, than here. You took a big leap from CC-pro to PGA. All these things are to be considered. Have patience. I was on the Euro tour a few seasons ago and I enjoy being here much more. On the top tours you hear a lot of ego talk and complaining if they don't shoot 12-15 under each time. There, it was a struggle for me to make a cut. I would say the only thing you need to do differently is RELAX. I have played with your ghost many times, and I feel like you have the potential to become a top 50 player easily. There are times I play Bradley Garcia's ghost in a practice round and his course managment is great. Play a practice round with his ghost and pay attention. For example ,on par 5's he plays to a certain distance if he can't get home in two, he stays away from partial shots etc. His ball always seems to come to rest on the proper side of the hole...by design. And BREATHE before you take a shot. Know that you belong there, because you do. Hope that helps a little. More of a pep talk than tips. I really appreciate that advice Bill, I think that will actually really help me. I have unintentionally been maybe putting too much pressure on myself and like you said I need to relax. I do need to work on my course management more (Where I need to place the ball on the green). I will take these tips and try to succeed, thanks a lot again Bill that is what I needed though to be honest. I have been really angry at myself recently because of my play and yes I also get caught up with the big boys in PGA when I can't even make the cut lol. I just need to play like I used to, relax, and see what happens!

If you look at two golfers from my side of the pond Paul Casey and Sergio Garcia you can how internal pressure, desire to succeed and removing negatives work.
Casey has a reputation for being an angry, combative player who was decent but often blew up, getting frustrated and blowing good positions. He has found relaxation away from the game and before every shot now he and his caddy agree what they are trying to do, are happy with the decision and he has a positive clear and relaxed approach to each shot. Negatives rarely raise their head and whilst not winning every week he is more competitive and successful.
Garcia lived with the pressure of not winning a major for years. Talented but tension and internal pressure hurt him for years. The other year he was getting married, feeling good about life and had other things than not winning majors on his mind. He pips Rose to the Masters title and all is good. The pressure to kick on from there creeps in and different putters, grips and putts shave the hole rather than drop.
Dirtbag rounds are fun to you, PGA Tour rounds matter. Remember what got you there, find that relaxed confident state of mind, stay focussed and you will remove the tension from your swing and the miniscule errors that are the difference between success and failure.

Avery, I totally agree with what Bill has said.
You have only just started your PGA career so have patience, try to relax and learn from the top players by playing against their ghosts.
Maybe try to set yourself little realistic goals for each round and for the tournament.
For example: round 1 hit 100% fairways, round 2 hit 100% GIR, round 3 have 25 putts or less and finish the tournament bogie free.
One of my goals at the moment is to play a bogie free tournament, something that I have been unable to do all season.
Your a good player Avery, have fun and stay positive about your ability.
P.S. At some point in the future, I would love to be reading about a fellow Dirtbag that is kicking a$$ in the big leagues.

Well Loftyando, you've got this one in the bag. My R3 was a disaster. Took a double bogey 7 on the par 5 9th thanks to a random very fast swing. Got into those rocks on the left side of the green and had to take an unplayable lie. Followed that up with another bogey on 10 and it was off the rails from there. I think I finished with a +3 for the round. Sometimes this game just makes me want to walk away and never come back, but just like real golf... I always come back for more punishment.

I will make an annoucement soon about season 2. I am excited about some things I have running around in my mind, and have had a few ideas from Greg, our newest dirtbag and I may have a surprise new member that you will be pleased about.
Any ideas you have, let me know now, while in the planning stage so that I can consider. I think you will like what is coming down.

Thank Leon, I appreciate that. Good idea about giving myself small goals each round. I will do that more and try to relax more. I hope to make the Dirtbags proud!
